What's sad is just how easy it is these days for these c**** to rent a botnet, or even worse, build one up themselves using pirated botnet warez(how's that for irony) that they spam out to a million addresses.
At any rate, eventually they'll give up....they always do. Keep fighting the good fight guys!

Hate bots....

My other 'hobby' is entering competitions. All online and costs me nothing but my time. BUT.... I used to do competitions on Twitter. You have to Follow the User, then RT the competition post.
some use a 'Bot' which reacts to every hashtag that says either #win or #competition and it automatically RT's.... so basically they are entering absolutely every competition on Twitter. Their win rate is, of course, phenomenal.

I don't mind anyone winning, in fact I'm pleased for people... but cheating is spoiling it.

I know it's off topic.... just the word 'Bot' is so annoying !

^^^ The winner is not a winner if he/she has to cheat to win! He/she may have walked away with the prize, but he/she is still a loser. I don't know how anyone could accept a prize if they received it by cheating. Some people have no integrity.

But yes, it is sickening how many people will throw away all of their ethics, morals, or whatever you want to call it in order to take something they do not really deserve.

419 scammers may be among the most blatant and heartless, but there are far too many people who would steal from anyone if they had a chance. A sad commentary.

^^^^ Yep, it's why I always tell people that it's not a country or a nationality that makes a person a criminal. It's the mindset and that can happen anywhere in the world. The person who cheats to win a fun contest is no better than the lads that we bait. (IMHO) The person who cheats is stealing from the person who played the contest honorably, and should have won.

Oh cheating in competitions is rife.

Thankfully I belong to a group of people and we know the cheaters usually.

But.... Facebook is like Godaddy. There is abuse there of people hosting pages and offering fantastic prizes but, (you know it if looks too good to be true it probably is), it's so hard to get FB to take down a page when you report.

I do Ok... and I enjoy my comping and so do my group's friends. I couldn't enjoy something I had cheated to get. Half of the fun of a hobby is satisfaction... oh and baiting does give me satisfaction !

Looks like the attack has dropped off, in the mean time I'm still keeping the "shields up" so to speak, I do believe the worst of it is now behind us.
