Scamwarners has been down for a few hours now !

Is this something that happens?? Just a little concerned we may have upset someone.... but who could take it down?

Annoyingly I keep clicking on it to report and it's not there !

It's being looked at. I don't think it's an attack, it looks more like some sort of internal upset. Exactly what is a mystery. When people say I'm good with computers they mean I can carry a really big one by myself Wink

It was up for a while, but lost its stylesheet. Now it's down again.

In one way it's satisfying that it is down....means someone is really upset at us because can't have been that easy to take down..however I hope it doesn't last long because it's so invaluable.

Ok... the bad guy has had his fun... now, let's get it back and available again ! It's got so much vital information ! I hope we don't lose it all !

I'd love the wipe the smirk off whosever face is happily smiling at his handiwork ! Give us back our website ! Evil or Very Mad

It'll all come back in the stat it was before the attack, whenever who is paying for the attack runs out of cash or decides it is costing more than he has lost.

Previous attacks have gone on for 24 hours or more.

The site isn't actually down as such --- when there is a big DDOS attack it just ducks down under a shield and rides it out.

And the bonus is that while they're wasting large amounts of cash on a lengthy attack, their sites are still being found and reported.

So is 419Eater fairly bombproof? I could imagine it would be quite a target !
I honestly never imagined what a vast industry in scamming. I knew that it was a big thing.... but not the depth of it.

Some are so thick you'd wonder how they would make anything ! But I suppose they do !

This is annother demonstration how good they are in networking. They may not be able to travel to you to get you but rest assured that they can find someone near you to do so. Ofcource i would suspect that some group of vlads might be dabling with DDOS attacks and the advance fee fraud at the same time.

Could it be the Bimbom-Bump gang? Their sites are still up, but just being discovered and posted in public after several months of no exposure could have annoyed them.

It's not the first time SW has been under DDOS. Eater has been hit before as well. A few years ago Eater was down for several days while Rover was repelling a particularly vicious attack.

Both sites have protections in place and can generally withstand the smaller attacks, but a large enough effort like the one going on now will have a temporary effect on site availability.

There are some vlad gangs that have lost large numbers of victims and fake websites in the past few months who would be holding some pretty heavy grudges by now. I'd guess one or more of them are behind this latest effort.

As B8er said, too bad for them that it won't stop us.

Right now SW has around 2000 bots flooding it. We will simply ride it out and continue doing what we do best regardless.

If lads (or Vlads) are prepared to pay good money to interfere with us, we must be hitting them where it hurts.

Yes, I remember when we had a massive wave of D-dos attacks and all had to meet up in the car park every day. Did it stop us?

That must have been a big effort... but there will be some serious money behind some of them. When I've searched on some the same scams have been repeated for years. If they didn't work then they wouldn't repeated them.

Wishing SW was up and running though. Hate them getting one over, even for a short time.

I'm quessing that a vlad gang might use us as a target practice or a test dummy so they can test their stuff for later comercial use. It still takes money and efford to do but it would be an excuse for them to hit us even though there is no profit in it.
