I will take that on board BRUIN. I do however feel I have to tread carefully with this lad - my evil banker did not go down too well and almost scuppered my saga. Perhaps I was a little over enthusiastic and heavy handed with that one. I am still learning, this is my very first and currently only bait.

I do like your suggestions, especially my lover getting involved, I have gradually mentioned him in passing so he may have to make an appearance.

First things first though, I will soon have to deal with an angry lad when he realises the payment hasn't gone through. I'll try and clear that one up, see if I can get a postal address and then let my boyfriend "help me out". He is very demanding only being 19 years old when I am pushing 70...... Shocked

No reply as yet, banks must be shut on Sunday in Nigeria. I must say I'm disappointed as I'd expect a reply telling me when I'm due my $600k windfall after sending £3390.

Or perhaps the lad is going to be irate on Monday if the payment hasn't gone through? Hope he hasn't had a blow out weekend expecting to pick up the 3 grand....... Rolling Eyes

I have an email from my lad asking where the proof of payment is...... he never asked for any, so how was I supposed to know? He also asked if this was "a big joke or what"..... little does he know.

I basically responded saying he never asked for any. I will now wait 24 hours.

What shall I do? Send a scan of something random? How do I get a corrupt file? Should I just say the money is returned for some reason and I'll try again? Should I go in for the kill and request that postal address BRUIN was suggesting?

I like it now the money is nearly in his hands. I can sense the desperation in his messages. They are very blunt and not polite as they once were!

If your character is in the US, the bank is closed today. Internatinal ransfers take 3-5 days in any case.

If he wants proof of payment, you'll need to go to the bank and ask them for it. That will waste a day. Then you will have to find a scanner to scan the image in. File Destructor can take care of creating a file that can't be opened.

Capone - Character in UK, bank can be closed today anyhow. Doubt lad has an in depth knowledge of my high street.....
Orangecat - now that file destructor is just the ticket. A nice large file taking ages to download that is actually a load of old tosh! As you said, I now have to find a scanner at an internet cafe......

Do you think these lads have a PC at their house? Or do they have to travel to an internet cafe? My lad is based in Nigeria so I don't really know what is the norm. To be honest I'd be disappointed if he has his own PC and can just conduct this charade from the comfort of his home. My character has had many trips to the bank, now has to go and find a scanner. Not go t my hopes set on a safari, but do you have any ideas how to get him off his ass and earn this money?

Most of the lads I'm baiting use their phones to send and receive email (I know this only because the last line of their emails is "Sent from my Blackberry" or "Sent with the iPhone 5" or "Sent via [insert phone service name here]".

Seems like you're off to a good start with your lad. I'm sure he'll enjoy sitting and waiting...and waiting...and waiting for his transfer slip to download.

OrangeCat - thanks for the info - I love your baiting tools, I may well have to use them!

So, it was left that I will get the bank slip tomorrow and then attempt to scan, but I then receive another email from my lad (who clearly works two alias's, one the facilitator and the other the bank manager). This email was from the bank manager who usually has reasonable English, but this time this nonsense was sent. I can only assume another lad has sent it:

"It is approraite for you to have printed wire transfer confirmation as evidence of what you claimed you done else no body will beleive you so untill that is esterblished before i confirm you are truthful of that claim. Did you pay to which of the accounts did you pay the money the last La Caixa in Spain?

Send a scan copy of the evidence by tomorrow as you said and i will give you the benefit of dought till then."

This gave me the opportunity to show how stupid I really am, but also dish out a little put down:

"Have you been drinking? I can hardly understand you. I hope you are ok.

As I said I will get the information from the bank tomorrow and scan it and send it to you.

Hope you feel better or sober up"

I just wonder what the bank manager will say tomorrow when I bring this up, along with the massive corrupted file bank slip.....

Do you know what, I'm learning a little about this every day. I think my main problem is being too enthusiastic. I simply can't wait to engage the lad and get replies from him, especially as he is getting more frustrated. I'm finding it hard to keep the 24 hour rule. Perhaps after this one is done, I may start 2 up at once so I can have the interaction I crave, but stringing out each one for longer. I've promised myself I won't respond too soon but just can't help it! Embarassed

Today I have been to the bank and got the slip scanned (I know, I could have spent an extra day looking for a scanner!). Unfortunately file destructor has provided me with a massive un-openable file. Not my fault as I don't have a scanner. I blame my rent-boy boyfriend, so young and unaware. He will have to communicate about this duff scan - it was him who got it from the bank.....

What was wrong with you last night? I hope you are OK today. I sent my boyfriend to the bank as my legs are playing up today - they have kindly scanned the acknowledgement slip and placed it on a USB drive as I don't have a scanner at home. They also informed him that international transfers can take several days. Let me know when we can move forward and get this account set up.

Hmmmm.... lad is hard to pin down. Obviously he received my email with corrupt transfer slip, but does not mention this:

"When ever the fund reflects in the account i will know you are saying the truth because you are big joker and stop communicating with me untill this is done."

Now from my characters point of view, this seems a little odd seeing as though I have complied:

"I don't know what your issue is. I have complied with your every request. You asked for funds to be paid into an account. I did this. You then asked for a scan of the acknowledgement slip. I have done this.

You can be very rude and I do not appreciate your tone. You had better explain yourself, especially the email last night or it is me who will consider you the "big joker".

I would guess from the blunt tone my bait is nearing an end. I can only imagine there will be little/no response when the bank transfer fails.

I have looked at some of the forms in the "baiters toolbox" in the sig of OrangeCat's posts. There are some fake moneygram/WU forms there. In a last ditch attempt to hook my lad again, would it be daft to suggest one of these methods if he won't send me his address to post a cheque? Seems a bit topsy turvy as most people seem to work hard to pursuade lads to move away from WU..

Thoughts appreciated.

Why don't you attempt a second account. Feel free to slap your lad for giving you an account that is flagged or otherwise doesn't work. I'm seeing this a lot in some of our newer members but there is no way a transfer would be available the next day in RL. 3-5 business days is standard. Don't rush it. Lads, who frequently don't know about EFTs will insist, but tell them banking rules don't change just because they get antsy.

As far as a transfer slip goes, you use electronic banking it's paperless. So when you get to 5 days, horrors, your bank manager calls you and tells you the money has been returned. These emails can eat up a day or two. then you can abuse your lad-jokers use non-functioning accounts-you'll only believe him if he gives you an account that works!

Capone - This is the 3rd account given by the lad. I made the transfer because I felt it was getting to the stage when the lad was thinking it was me not paying rather than the account not working. A bit like a poker game between me and the lad - I decided to change tactics and pay, thus taking this in a slightly new direction. I will certainly use the fact that the transfer can take up to 5 days and also that this paper trail is not the norm. If this were real, the person would just wait for the funds to show in their account. Don't really get this "slip" all lads seem to want? Sure thing there will be astonishment when the funds are returned.

Shadowboxer - I shall consider something along your lines.

OK, some updates: I have had some good communication with my lad who clearly plays two aliases. 1. The main character Samuel. 2. The bank facilitator Susan.

They like to play good cop bad cop, chastising me for not managing to make payments or not giving payment slips. As the bait has gone on, frustrations have often boiled over on their part, to the degree it did last night. Susan the bank facilitator told me I am a liar and not to contact her again unless it was with the fax of the bank slip. This pleases me as I have had so much communication and 3 piggies off her, basically giving her the run around. I can feel her frustration in every message.

So I email the lad's other persona, Samuel - tell him all about horrible Susan and that I'm thinking of stopping all dealings with her and cancelling the money transfer. The tone then changes trying to calm me down. This is the first time in a while I feel I have the upper hand in emails. I always seem to be trying to explain my incompetence and they both seem to engage very little other than suggesting I am lying and just repeating their requests. Have a look at my email to Samuel and his response...... poor Susan.

My email:

"Samuel

I have to agree with you about this childs play. I feel so annoyed with Susan that I don't think I want to have any more dealings with her. She has been very unprofessional from the start. She has given me 3 accounts, the first 2 didn't work. The third account had issues on the first day but I managed to make the full payment on Saturday morning after being in the bank for over an hour. I have never had these problems before. She then asks for a paper acknowledgement slip which she never asked for in the first place? This was an electronic transfer and no slip is given. I sent my friend to the bank this morning to request an electronic copy of the slip as I do not have a scanner. The bank gave this to me on a usb drive. I can see the document on my computer. Susan then tells me I am a liar and I did not send the attachment and it is blank. This is down to her computer, not mine. She then sends me a fax number and tells me to fax the slip. I do not have a fax which she doesn't believe. Who has a fax machine in their home? Also, I do not have a paper copy of the slip, just the electronic scan the bank did that I sent her. How can I fax that even if I did have a scanner? I have no idea why she is so desperate for this slip? In 3-5 working days, the money will be in the account she gave. End of.

Samuel, the more I think about Susans actions and how she speaks to me, the more I think I'm going to the bank tomorrow and trying to cancel the transaction. I do not want to deal with her anymore.

It is a real shame that someone you work with behaves like this. I would recommend you use another banker in future."

His reply:

"David,
Calm down. Is only understandable to know that ladies some times loose their cool easly especially when they have marrital issues at home according to what Susan wispered to me before you won the Grant. Susan is right now going through looming divoce case with her husband so i guess that puts her in radical and emossional out burst once in a while but she will get over that soon.

Susan is a nice person beleive me. I advise you to forward the downloaded and opened USB of the pay slip to me right now so i can send it to Susan because she said the bank in Spain wants to sight the pay slip which is the normal thing before the money arrives. I trust you will oblige me this simple thing immediately because you are supposed to have been expecting your certified bank draft to clear by now which is my concern.

In one of my Cammy baits I received an account in a Burkina bank and it used French banking terms such as Code Guichet.

Cammy, being somewhat (!) vain, didn't ask for help in working out what the terms meant and so the transfer seems to have failed (that was her explanation, anyway). She asked for the banking details in English.

If you do get account details in a foreign language, it's another way of messing things up.

Today I had to tell my poor lad the bank transfer hadn't worked - what a shame. 5 days of frustrating waiting, 2 failed bank slips were sent but no joy.

Today I suggested the 3 bank account saga was not working and perhaps I should have his address to send a cheque or bankers draft to....... I'm not sure if he has just been incompetent or playing with me as his message read "I have attached my address" - but with no address attached.

This is kind of the game I have been playing with him with the bank slip..... but talk about balls in court, he wants over 3 grand from me..... I emailed back saying nothing was attached and now I wait. If he comes back with an address, I shall start BRUINS suggestions of winding up other lads with insults and homosexual solicitations and direct it all to my poor lad.

Fingers crossed I get an address - not sure about it as why would a criminal want to give that away?

For sure, that son of a bitch is playing me at my own silly "no attachment" game!

I initially responded telling him there was no attachment which I bet made him smile. I'm now not going to respond till Monday, then give him a piece of my mind as to whether he want's to progress or not. If he ignores me then, I will respond as the evil banker from a few weeks ago telling him that he has been monitoring my emails, set up an email address similar to my lads and has got me to send the money via WU easy as pie. Dollar chop.

See how he likes them apples.

I,ve sort of put the idea in her (his) ..lol.. , head that i might be able to sort out a grant for accommodation once the young lady arrives in the uk i feel a plan coming together Very Happy

I decided to wait a few days before doing the dollar chop so it seems a little more realistic....... Would you believe, my lad is back in touch seemingly giving me another chance even though he has accused me of being a liar. I would like to put this down to my calm head in the situation and my final email just stating that I was not a liar and had done my best and I would look to invest my money elsewhere! So, back in the game and the dollar chop will have to wait.

Now - back to business. My lad has offered me a perfect solution, one which I had suggested to him a while back but he did not act on. MoneyGram. Now I know people are always trying to steer lads away from this and WU towards bank accounts, but I have already had 3 off him and wanted to try a "MoneyGram global security compliance form" on him. These inane forms are located at www.scambaitingtools.com . A good few questions and a set of fingerprints required.

Obviously 2 of these forms need to be filled in as he wants the money split between 2 accounts. I shall wait and see what happens. Don't think he is gonna like it much but I am looking forward to this. So far he has done no work other than to respond to my many failed payment attempts. This will take him time and effort. If he sends them back, is that a trophy or is that just photos?
