^^^Which is obviously a scripted mail that he sends out without reading the previous one, as I'd already converted everything to £ and given him a total and got the same email from him. Rolling Eyes

ETA What I learned from the awesome Big Al, Woody999 & B8er in the John Boi adventure (which is where ALL my burnt bacon came from) https://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=252552&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0:

- Keep a spreadsheet of all transactions - card number, amount attempted, amounts "charged", and a running total. Lads will ask for the updates every now & then.

- Charge a large amount at first to get the lad hooked. Taper off the amounts toward the total as you get closer.

- When the lad is ready to give you a pink piggy, you can let them know that the first big transaction was reversed, thus giving you some stalling time once the piggy is reported, and a few extra black piggies while the lad is making up the deficit.

I am always polite, helpful and courteous to the lad. After all, he's increasing my sty, and I'm a tourism professional! Twisted Evil

he also asked me for phone number, I gave him a genuine number. The phone in question is somewhere in the kitchen and hasn't been switched on in 4 years. ...... Don't even know where the charger is

Same here - my UK phone is at home, so I've given him the number and told him I'm busy preparing the rooms for the next guests and the receptionist has rung in sick, but he's welcome to call after 4pm.

I grabbed Mr CC Lads e mail, replied on my Baiter account - he did not even question where my little B&B was ( I guess for right now I am operating out of somewhere obscure anywhere in thew whole wide world) and sent him a quote. Thanks to the phone heads up on here, I already informed him that Payment by Phone is unacceptable - our booking system is strictly on the computer.
I am excited to see what happens....

Yesterday and this morning he was chatty Kathy with responses just minutes apart, after I passed my K7 and our policy of no phone credit card processing he went silent. Maybe he knocked off work a bit early for the weekend but he appears to be just a gunshy.
