OK, so updated statistics, probably only a wee bit less biased than before.

MEDIAN AGE: 45 years.

MEAN AGE: 42.56

Assuming equal distribution in each age group, 55% of the sample are younger than 45 and 45% older than it. This means an assymetry of 1.65%, this is, that both groups are practically equal.

Standard deviation is 13.74. This means, that 68% of baiters are between 56 and 29 years of age. Then, 95% of the population is between 14 and 70. The statistical limits are 1 and 83. Although a sensible lower limit is 15.

This shows that my perceptions were a bit biased, but basically because I didn't pay attention, because most of the baiters that have posted here are baiters I usually get around with. THis means you "sound" younger than what you really are, which is good for you!

Nice work Tururut - dealing with the "end categories" is always a challenge with polls like these. I am in the neighbourhood of the median and mean although everyone guesses I'm at least 10 years younger (hard living has kept me young).

The next question is whether (self reported) ages are comparable to the 2010 poll (link again), summarised below.
Does 419eater still have the same age demographic?

-15: 4
16-19: 7
20-24: 13
25-35: 24
36-44: 22
45-54: 24
55-64: 8
65-74: 1
75-84: 0
85-94: 0
95-104: 2
(Plus 9 responses among 7 other novelty categories).

I'd assume it has aged a bit. Median seems to be around 40. Still, those are very.limited samples, which may have nothing to do with the community of "active" baiters, let alone the whole 419eater population.

I'm 21, though I started doing this sort of thing on a small scale when I was about 15 or 16 by finding guys on omegle and giving them fake info and seeing how far they would go, except that was less 419 scams and more sexual predators, so the conversations went a little bit different.

My age is posted on a sign here in town. Right after the sign that says "Obey All Signs." Which causes me no end of amusement. Why erect a sign to announce that one should read and "obey" all the signs?

The first time I saw that I had to pull over. I was laughing so hard I couldn't see.
