The evolution of lad address lists

I have several accounts used only for baiting, 2 in gmail and one in yahoo (if they want the IP on that one, it actually supports the character's game), and the spam has gone through some interesting transformations. Remember, these addresses are used for nothing but baiting with the one exception being that I use the Lou one to post in here.

- The Lou mailbox gets more and more lad mail as I use it. The lads are sharing/stealing baiters' addresses (?).
- The Carling mailbox gets a few lad emails. The more you bait, the more you get.
- The Marty (yahoo) mailbox gets them rarely. Beats me why.

Today, the next piece of spam evolution:
- Lou got hammered with enlarge-your-wang and Gucci watch ads with the identical format and redirect hosts. Phishing/Malware guys now have the address, from the lads or from here? I've been using the Lou address for several years and this is the first non-lad spam.

- Lou and Marty (remember, this is one gmail and one yahoo) got the exact same lad message at the same time. Now the two of them, who have worked together on many a bait, are on the same list.

It sure would be interesting to be able to follow your baiting self through all that weirdness.

Funny you mention that - my catcher has gone from about 5 lad emails a day to that plus 10 penis emails and discount watch emails, presumably from the same system as you are getting hit with. All different addresses but the emails are the same format. Weird space out letters.

Yup, those are the ones. A flood of them.

I've always wondered if baiter addresses get passed around to tell others to avoid "the joker" or perhaps to given to the competition as a "good" addy.

Some of my bait accounts have been inactive for around a year, I was surprised to open them and find nothing. I figured they'd be completely flooded out.

I'll be watching to see if I get passed off to the spam operators, it's an interesting question as to how that connection works.
