lads doing some research

I've been experimenting with using a lot of social engineering (which is what I do for a living) in my baits, so I'll take a run at him too.

Right now I have a character who slowly reveals himself to be evil and brings the lads along for the horror-ride. His phone, address, IP, etc. will all track back to the same place (which is ~3,000 miles from my house).

Wow! Just read his second note. Maybe if he gets more notes from baiters he will really decide to throw in the towel.

I'm never surprised to see some savvy lads out there. It might not be true with him, but I've heard about guys who get out of college (or can't afford to go) who are smart but can't get work.

Yeah, it's weird. Vincent now wants to be my best friend and cry on my virtual shoulder. No angle yet but maybe he is building to a request for some $$ and I can re-bait. For now he just whines about his last 6 months and that he wasted money on bad emall lists and that they "are the ones making real money". This is a strange one.

I called him in the middle of the night his time last night and he was mega pissy from the get. He kept calling me Catalina (I think..?), so if anyone is using that name to get to him, you've got him angry. Laughing

I also emailed but no response.

I responded to his al-Gaddafi relative bait with this:

Agreed he is a lot of work and probably not worth it.

This goes to show that there is real value in baiting the lads. If he didn't get the abuse and fails he might have kept going. Sounded like, although he made one bad business deal, he may have had some real victims and we know is isn't stupid.

Now to make some more lads sorry..... Wink

He wrote to me again. After his last note admitting to being a scammer, I wrote back a two line note basically saying don't sweat it and thanks for being honest.

And came back with...

If he's telling the truth about getting out of the game, it's a great result. And it's definitely nice to hear that he knows of other lads who have been stymied by our collective efforts.

But I can't help but be cynical about this. If one of my lads started talking like this, I'd be suspicious and try to re-bait him from another character in a few weeks. If you go that route, hopefully your lad doesn't respond.

He's not my lad to bait. I just jumped in when he was in his "doing research" phase and because his "pitch" fit in perfectly with one of my characters.

Will be interesting to see where OP takes it. Nice work on his part though, if nothing else, he has clearly given this lad pause.

I'm not throwing him a medal anytime soon. I continue to engage him from my primary character while attempting to bait him from a couple of new characters. So far he responded to one new character with the same "don't believe these emails you receive" but he could be on to all of us and is probably baiting others from a new email. Either way not wasting a lot of time on him but don't want to let him ride off into the sunset either.
