So I got this message....I've responded a bit, but not a lot....figured I'll get their banking info or whatever they give me and post it here and let people have fun with it, get it shut down or however that works.

Hello, My name is ******* I found your email address from the resources data base and decided to contact you, i hope this email finds you well I'm from Western Australian,a dying widow suffering from Pancreatic Cancer and has decided to donate some of my wealth to a reliable individual or sincere person that will use this money, $ 4 Million Dollars to help the poor and less privileged ones, So if you are also interested and willing to accept this offer and do exactly as I will instruct, then get back to me. I am heartbroken to hear the news of your terrible health. I know what it's like to not be able to trust family and friends. I also am a very cautious person with who I trust.

I was wondering how you came to know of me to contact me. You asked for info like my nationality and name, but I would imagine you would know these things if you were contacting me in the 1st place. I mean out of everyone in the world I was blessed with this truly once in a lifetime opportunity to do good with your finances.

I just am cautious, as I said.

So if you're keeping score, you have a woman in Australia, using a Turkish bank, and a French email. lol.

Are you baiting safely from an email that has no bearing on your actual email or personal details? I highly recommend signing up for a mentor while you're baiting.

If you're replying from your own email, you should immediately stop the conversation for your own safety and sanity. Wait a bit, create an untraceable character, and connect again from there.

You might want to edit out the email address of your scammer. If they put their address into google, it will lead them to your post, and that would be a shame. Just open your post and click the edit button at the upper right corner, and you can delete their address and probably the last name of their scamming character. You can post those details at scamwarners.com to warn future victims.

Hi.

Sorry, but I removed the masking codes from your post for two reasons - first, you obfuscated the names already, so there wasn't a need. If you are going to be concerned about posting large bodies of text then you probably don't want to post it.

The second and more important reason is that masking sucks up bandwidth, so it should be used sparingly and only when absolutely needed.

There is a longer explanation regarding masking and leeting in the Guidelines.

Welcome to Eater! What everybody else here says, but you have a good start. After giving him totally nonsense information, he's probably going to suggest contact with a Barrister or bank. You can post those with appropriate editing. After he demands cash via Western Union or Moneygram, you can of course refuse and ask for an account. that info should be PM'ed to a mod-the folks in green.

Okay, so while waiting for that one to contact me ANOTHER one reached out to me, and while I gave ZERO information, and I was just messing with them, they went ahead and sent me bank info and contact info, phone numbers, etc for me to use.

I looked at the subforum to post that info but I'm COMPLETELY lost trying to understand all that.

Is there someone I can pm this info to and they can post it on my behalf? Let me know. Thanks!

did the scammer ask you to transfer money into that account? If yes then report it to a mod for further action to earn your first piggie.

You should sign up for a mentor to help you with your first steps as baiter until you can fly solo.

Often at the beginning of a bait, a lad will send you bank info that they say is where the money they are promising you is located. They offer it without prompting. Is this what you got? If so, that info is fake and doesn't need to be reported. On the other hand, if they gave you account details and asked you to send money to it, that's a real account and needs to be sent to a Mod as FWP said.

1. No I have not given out any info on me. I have not given my name, have not given my address, state, country, occupation, anything at all. None. Zip. Nada. Zilch.

This came in an older gmail address that I don't really use anymore, but still have around because everything on google seems to be connected.

I kept asking for "her" to take a picture with some random phrase on a sign to prove she is who she says she is, and the person completely ignored that request and kept telling me how horrible her situation is and how due to her being a refugee she needed help transferring money out of the bank account.

2. I will PM a mod with the info, as this is a LOT of info with bank accounts, phone numbers, contacts, and a letter that I'm supposed to send with my name included saying "I..... am helping her get her money" etc etc etc.

Well as I told the mod I pm'd to, I'm not actually baiting this one. I was on the other one, but lost interest and just was frustrated they were using people's faith to scam them. So I had dropped it, but then this one contacted me and I figured I'd at least have them take pictures with a random quote on it to prove they were who they said they were in the pictures. I've seen some scammers have done that before.

However I sent zero information, stating that until I could see that they were who they were, I couldn't 100% trust them.

Then they sent me one back saying "Thank you for sending me your information (I didn't)" and hit me with contact info, bank account, phone numbers, websites, etc.

No need to send that to a mod. That's scripted info that the lad sends to every person he scams. He's saying 'I'm a rich refugee but I can't access my money with out a foreign partner. Contact my bank by writing a letter saying xyz.'

The bank info is fake. Its there to make a victim think that there really is an account with millions of dollars sitting in it waiting for someone to come along to help the poor refugee get it out. The bank account you are looking to report is the one sent to you AFTER the lad asks you to send the money. I understand that you haven't given any of the lads personal info but when you signed up for the old gmail address, did you use your real info to do so? Have you used that gmail in any of your personal or business life so that if it's googled it could lead a lad to your address? It's not worth it to use. Not when creating a new address is so easy. As you bait longer you'll find yourself with more accounts than you can keep track of anyway. We're just looking out for you as these guys are criminals.
