Hello - I've been sporting for a few years - just casually - but this one is quite advanced

Domain snipped -ghost

It seems to be a co-op site (even has anti-scam warnings)

I want to play him a bit longer and need some fake ID. He wants a drivers licence and passport to qualify me to get into the secure storage facility that is holding my "once in a lifetime opportunity" RV in escrow.

Canadian preferably

We do not send lads ANY form of ID. Not even Syldavian screwdriving licenses. (We have done baits involving Syldavia.)

There are lots of ways round the ID issue - one, for example, is to scan a blank piece of paper - when he opens the attachment, it's not your fault that your ID isn't showing properly at his end etc etc.

Other baiters do clever stuff like renaming files and corrupting files and things like this

As VX said, we do not send lads any type of ID because we don't want to send them things that they can reuse in their scams.

Ok, ask your lad are you using Win8+1?

Can you convert between Win8+1 and what ever your lad is using? ask him how to do it

Remember you are the stupid person who fell for his script, keep playing on that, if you start becoming too intelligent, he will drop you so fast

And as mentioned above, we never never never send the lads anything that could be recycled and used, fake id's, passports all fall into that category

I use the "State Department/DFAT doesn't allow scans of passports" modality, and add that driving licences aren't an option (don't have one) and American/Australian citizens don't have ID cards. I usually offer a passport number for the Lad to check at the appropriate embassy.

I've had only two baits founder for lack of a passport.

I have had only one lad where id was a deal breaker: I very paranoid gold lad. so you can use the dozens of excuses around. My go to is that I sent it it for a renewal, send my picture and a fake ID number.

In an important Bait (yes, sometimes they may be) a Lad pushing for ID can be a real nuisance. I've recently had a few like this and I told them that my character was in a wheelchair without a scanner. This didn't stop them still asking for ID after 5 months ("Take a taxi to a business centre or cyber cafe") but they seemed to reluctantly accept my reason at the end.

I've always had good luck saying I have no photo ID, but that I do have a library card. Then I type up a string of numbers and letters and tell him that's my library card number.

My loan scam characters always ask if the scammer is authorised to lend in country, which they always say yes to.

When the ID request comes in, they send a made up ID number and then when they are asked again, refer them to the email where they confirmed that they are authorised and point out that in that case they should be aware of the law that prevents sending ID by electronic means.

I want to pass my guy off to someone - I'm off for a business trip.

The timing is perfect - we just left off with me having a friend close to the escrow shop - getting ready to take a look.

BTW - I was thinking in terms of ID featuring one of the famous photoshop uglies such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhVT42LrTwU from like Amsterdam Canada or something of that sort.

Definitely not something they could use further.

I read that primer on not sending ID of any kind - makes perfect sense. So please ignore that earlier noob request. Like I said - I've only been playing in the little league. Carry on the good fight and thanks for the lesson.

The theory is if it's good enough to fool a Lad it's good enough to fool a victim. Therfore it's just better to not send anything even if it ends the bait.

I tell them I don't have an ID or PP but can apply for one if it's required. If they say it is then:
1. go to Post office and and find out I need certified copy of my Birth Certificate.
2. Go to next county and get one.
3. go to get PP photos taken.
4. need to wait until payday to get the $150.00 USD to pay for the PP.
5. Applied for Passport and it will arrive in 3-4 weeks.

Note: When I applied for my PP I had to send my Birth Certificate along with my application. JIC the Lad should ask for a copy of it.

That easily extends the bait by a week and usually they will continue with the scam while your PP is in limbo.

If a promising 'victim' drops out on them because they were too pushy, they will be a little less likely to insist on id next time. And eventually they will get baited properly. There's always hope.

I would also tend to think that the Lads that are more Anal about getting an ID from their Victims are the ones most likely to re-use them on other victims too. (A win - win situation IMHO)
