I was wondering about this you know. I mean the two tragic details in one seemed iffy to me, but after all, all she did was ask for assistance, not cash...

Dwatina, that's a valid observation, and had the reason for the cry for help been singular e.g. just school books or just medication, I would have been a little more cautious of the nature of the email, and would have got more of an opinion in here before posting it.
However, I think there's just too many [laddish] boxes being ticked here: dead husband, missing daughter(s), pregnant, poor living conditions and medicine shortage (and now a bomb!) to be just a straightforward begging letter.
The email addresses have changed too frequently for my liking as well.

Perhaps if those baiters that have responded will post up any replies they get to give us a bigger picture, and we'll keep an open mind.

I think it's a scam. "She" is not the mother of one of the girls. She is not pregnant and she doesn't need money for doctors to deliver her new child. I can see where it's a fine line, but how many of the love-lads ask for "little bit of money for foodstuffs, only $150" or "I need feminine hygiene products, only $300" (lads have the most expensive periods known to man). They do this BEFORE any talk of coming over to the US (or UK) for marriage. The lad in this scam is putting a price on it, $300 (or whatever you can afford) specifically because she's pregnant, her daughter is one of the missing girls and she's asking money for her pre-natal care. That, imho is a scam.

My understanding of beggar, they're not lying about who they are or what their circumstances are, they are just flat out asking for money. I could be wrong and hold off emailing until a mod comes in with a decision. Very Happy

I received this yesterday. I held off baiting though...

1)It is questionable.

2)There are too many non-questionable lads to bait.

There are reasons (many) to believe this is a lad...and I would put the house on him being one.

yes, chances are high, that the sender isn't even closely involved with the situation, yet I don't see advance fee fraud in the opening mail (of course, there are other formats, that don't have a hint aswell).

Locked for now - we can reopen if it is a lad, but I'm going with the 'If in doubt, do what Chuck would do....ask TS, and then decide to not bait it,' philosophy.
