I also think that it will be hard for you to stay in the States after your conference - I do not know what types of visas they give in situations like these, but once your visa expires you have to leave - otherwise you will end up as an illegal and have to live in the shady world of male prostitution, drugs and crime, while trying to avoid the attention of the authorities - you'll have no accommodation, healthcare or access to banks.
