I'm not sure how to handle this post, this has occurred on our own email servers. We have these scammers who phish our organization and use the compromised accounts to send these scams and even send more phishing. I can't really post the headers as they are from my own email server. They've been doing this to us for years, and I have the IPs from our web logs. They tend to use a VPN, if we shun the IP they'll have another in a matter of minutes. Most of the time from another country. Great fun! It's also sad to see how many people respond to the original email. "This money would be great, we are currently in a financial hardship, what do I need to do?" If you guys need more proof, I'll include the headers, but I'd prefer to remove anything to do with our own mail servers out of it.

Yes, please add a copy of the header removing any of your company's information. I don't see any reason beyond that for not sending them some of our love.

I run my own server and sometimes get scam emails, which I post (after accumulating a week or so of them so that I can run the script once on all of them). If you see one posted by me with "Received ... by my box", "my box" is replacing the name of the mail server.
Those IP addresses are at Globacom in Nigeria. |
