I have a lad who appears to be traveling just a couple of hundred miles to meet me at Ouaga airport in Burkina Faso. Does that constitute a safari? I'm planning on dragging him further once he realises I'm not there.
My plane will be redirected so he'll have a choice of either coming to my new airport or meeting me at my hotel - a safari one all being well but need to contact monsignor.

I've been baiting two or the pushing like crazy to get them to meet my guy who is loaded down with$1.4m USD in two crates ready for charity building works and bribery.
One or maybe two have bitten and tonight will tell! 8:45 BF local time!

The rule for a safari is;
- At least 200 miles
or
-crossing an international border.

You will need to verify that he has traveled to get a pith.
Monsignor should know well enough by now how to verify Razz

Even if he doesn't quite make the distance for an official safari, if you get him to meet you at the airport you have already achieved something good in terms of wasting his time.
Airport safaris are notoriously difficult to prove, however an airport meeting is also an extremely plausible situation to set up --- therefore it has good potential even if you don't have a way to verify it.

Maybe check the IP or the number of the phone call? Regardless of whether you get the pith, that is an enormous waste of scammer time and money! For that alone, you deserve congrats!

Thanks all for your comments. I've been beaming all day over this. I've bombarded the lad with annoying sms and voice texts to his mobile all day and suggestions that the next port or call should be the hotel.
I've got my character's PA back at home also having communication issues due to terrible weather so hopefully Hassan feels really stranded. I might lose him through this but it's been worth it !

Sometimes, if the airport is far away, the lad will arrange a deal with another lad to do the face-to-face meeting. So it may or may not be a safari, but if your lad got another lad to go it's even better than if he went himself: lads hate it when they waste time for another lad. And it that is what happened, the second lad will be very reluctant to work with the main lad again. Causing a rift between lads has both short and long term rewards.

So anyway you cut it, you have a winning (whining?) situation there. Plenty of misery. Thumbs up

Now remeber, if at all possible try to make sure it was the lad's fault. He did not stand in the right place, he was here at the wrong time. You looked and looked for him but without luck, so you took a cab.
