After not getting a reply in 2 days, I resent them an email explaining that I was let down by not hearing back about my lottery winnings, and that I had sent a $250 western union fee to another company where I had "luckily" won.

That sparked a reaction and I got a reply, and how I never should have to send money for winnings, and that he is going to be getting back to me very soon with further information regarding my winnings.

So am looking forward to this, my first one seems to be starting now Smile

NB: Note that you do not need to pay a set up fee. As soon as your winnings are processed, you would be instructed on the modalities for picking it up .

You'll be able to challenge him later when the fees arrive. "But Sir, You said there would be no fees involved in finishing this transaction."

Good idea though, if no fees that surely means no fees. Am interested to find out where this goes next. What do I do when he asks for bank details?

I often get fake Barclay's and Royal Bank of Scotland accounts from the Darlings. I even had an off named account as a flash the other day. You can even make up your own fake bank or credit union and make up the account details for it. You just have to be sure that the details can't be to a RL account.

I use JP Morgan Chase and an 8 digit account number. Real ones have 9 digits but the Lads don't know. They never check them as they never intend to send any money to them anyway. I have occasionally been asked for the Chase Swift code. If you need it then it's CHASUS33 for any branch in the USA. All money transfers originate out of New York.

I am just a little bit confused. Do these people also take money out of peoples accounts?

Like for example I am so used to reading about how they get people to send money to them, but with this particular scam I am involved in, it seems like no need for me to send them money. Which can only lead me to think they want my bank details to then bleed me dry, but do they also scam people this way.

It's just that in all the scambaits I read, never once did it involve them wanting bank details, it was always for person to send money to them.

Never give a lad (o anyone) your bank RL bank account information. If a lad can access your money via any means he will take it. Never give them any or your or anyone else's rl information of any sort (Exception--giving a lad another lad's information is fine--having lads phone other lads can be fun--altough you seldom get an accounting of what happened other than "you sent me the wrong number)".

Real Things not to send:
-Telephone numbers
-Eamil adresses
-Bank accounts
-Addresses
-Names
-ID's, pasports, drivers licences, etc. *
-Photos *

* Note: Do not even send fake versions of ID's and photos of yourself, as lads use these to scam innocent victims.

So far I just have a throw away gmail with fake details, and a made up name George Raffe... Anything else is going to be made up also.

I use a made-up bank name and made-up but well-formed swift code, routing number, and account number. I have two main characters (one is a family), each with his own bank account at a different bank. They don't know each other and live on opposite sides of the continent.

I got a reply back today, not asking for money, but giving me a copy of my winning certificate, and giving me an office address in Spain (Madrid) which I have to visit to sign something. Of course though if I am unable to attend they will send the documents to me via courier to sign, but I will have to cover this cost and send them a payment.

Yup. I got the same email today. Of course you can't go to their office and they don't expect you too. They want you to go down the courier route who may or may not have a website or email only domain for killing.

The courier will probably have a few options the only difference being the size of the fees to pay.

Then it's time to get them to fork out the piggy's for roasting. Twisted Evil

The original email had said I won 5.8 million, so I managed to lose out on 4.4 million in 3-4 short days.

Another good guideline we follow here is to not post on this site certificates and credentials sent to you unless you first clearly deface them with words like "SENT BY SCAMMER" or "FAKE."

We do this even when the fake is so obvious it ought to be screaming "fakefakefakefake" of its own volition. This is especially true for threads like this one which can be accessed without loging in and which can be found via a web browser search.

This is because some lads (not many, thank God) know of us and visit from time to time. We do not want to provide any lad with an easy document that they could use to scam RL victims.

I humbly suggest you look at the forum "sticky" threads and FAQ's for some more excellent advice, tips and mentoring--and of course that you have as much fun as possible while wasting scammer time.

Ah I see, even when it's got names, dates and all that printed on it, as if they can remove these they can remove a big red scam wrote across it.

Most lads will do a poor job of removing dates and names; however, they will indeed do it, as most of us have seen obvious rewrites on their fakes.

Having a hige "FAKE written across credentials is a real deterrent. It is hard to remove because the background varries and it is simply much more work--the latter being the prime deterrent to lads, as they are famously allergic to effort unless there is a present chance of money.

Stenciling "Fake" does not absolutely theretically prevent scammer; however, it is a good practical deterrent. Few lads will try to accomplish by work what he can do otherwise by stealing--ad this inlcudes the process by which he gets his own toolkit.

Again, I'm sure I"m not going out on a limb by saying that we all are glad to have you with the community.

Enjoy some productive, safe baitining--and don't forget to share your triumphs. I love hearing about lad pain.

You can plan a trip to Madrid and send them the itinerary, then make something happen on the flight over there. Your passport has less than a month to live, you were rerouted to Barcelona and were greeted by a vuvuzela band at the airport, you had a heart attack, or whatever. It's generally good to schedule a plane change so that something can happen during the plane change.

I use the Gimp to fakemark pictures, typing "fake used by scammer" in several languages with 20-30% opacity. That way the text covered by "fake" is readable.
