No I haven't provided anything, he seem quite happy to accept a no invoice under the counter no tax deal, gave him a price for his sugar and milk, then he went straight back to the invoice and visa talk again aaargh!

@ Genevieve - yes I provided an invoice. Particularly for this amount of goods this would have to be a governmental purchase and it would go out to tender and require a lot more paperwork than a plain invoice, so it's not going to be of much worth or use to a scammer.

He's now making demands for more paperwork and I may supply one document but I'm going to slap him down over the rest.

It's as if he isn't really serious about meeting in Mali, so I will leave him no option. He rang yesterday and he's rung again today, so he's excited.

I may mention my other contacts in Mali (gold dealers) and see if I can energise him with the idea that there's competition.

I doubt I'll get a safari to Sverdlovsk but I challenge him to take what he's offered or safari.

I get the impression that although these are scammers who post their fraudulent adverts and offers far and wide, they're pretty clueless about how to pull off a scam and have no clear plan how to do it.

I think they're fixed on trying to pull off some kind of commercial fraud which is way beyond their abilities but I'll persevere for the time being.

As they're irritating me I'm going to press for them to travel to Sverdlovsk and hopefully their bureaucratic demands will fall away, then we can re-negotiate.

I seem to be getting half the family phoning me and unsurprisingly they aren't keen on sending their legal team to Sverdlovsk Laughing

, and I didn't even have to mention the risk of frost bite.

I'll get some of these phone calls posted, though they contain nothing exciting. They're insisting on my attendance in Bamako. They're probably a little bit sexist and rank me ahead of the boss' daughter in the trust stakes. Very Happy

Bamako airport is a military and commercial airport with troops being landed from other African countries as part of a peace-keeping contingent, as well as fighter planes flying sorties against rebels/terrorists so it's a high security area.

I had already cottoned on that this bunch were operating on a communal basis and the drawback to that is that there is a tendency for group scammers to try and outdo each other in their due diligence demands.

The demand for a copy of the passport of the Russian CEO is quite stupid anyway, but as much as I could appear to be trying to provide it, it serves no purpose to even attempt to provide a document that serves no commercial or legal function.

They're blithering idiots without any clue or ability to pull off a fraud of this nature, so with a juddering slap I've told them to get with the programme or butt out.

I'm relying on the fact that they've stated an amount they want to scam me for has got them thinking what to spend it on.

Of course I can't get you, but I can post the photo of someone you claim isn't you, so you can't object ?
