Hello, wonderful people! I am completely new here and just stumbled on this site after having done my first scambait. I had no idea there was a community based on it, but I guess it makes sense that I would not be the only one to reply to one of these scams with a witty comeback. Anyways, I wanted to share my experience with a scammer until I just got a response today that the email was shut down. Hope you think it's amusing. I removed the majority of the scammer's e-mail just because it goes on and on and on.

In the many years that I have had my e-mail address, I've never actually received any phishing e-mails. However, for some reason in the last week I've received a dozen or so, and I decided to have a little fun by responding with a crazy e-mail. What I was not expecting was a response. I sent another even crazier response, and not only received a response, but one that acknowledged some (not all) of what I said. Thus I decided to create a blog where I can post these e-mails and hopefully provide a little entertainment to the world. And so I present my first e-mail in all it's glory:

The e-mail:
How are you doing? Hope that you are doing fine. My name is Ashake Wilson, Am 29 years old in age and i was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. Am looking for my soul mate and am ready to relocate anywhere if i find the right person for myself. Little about me, I take care of myself in order to stay always beautiful, healthy and desirable to my man! I think you know that love starts from love to yourself, but i don't mean self-admiration. How person can love another person if he or she doesn't love his/herself? Sometimes i can be rather exacting, but what i require from my partner i will always demand it from myself also. Doesn't it sound wonderful?I like when my partner has good taste in clothes, I don't mean expensive things, I mean accuracy and cleanliness. I know there are no ideal people in the world. Hello! It is so refreshing to hear from somebody who also interested in a loving and long lasting friendship. Ever since my wife died and left me her large inheritance I have been longing for companionship. What is money without love? Not even hunting the greatest sport compares to holding a woman's neck firmly in my hands. I am looking for somebody who shares my interests but not many people share my passion for the spleen, and people think it is strange that I would set up a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping blind people learn how to navigate their environment by using dolphin calls and whistles. Her response doesn't acknowledge my previous e-mail so I assume it's just a template response, but I send another e-mail, even more bizarre, and curious if it warrants a response:
Just so you know my close friends call me Tom and I am a pilot. I am sorry to hear about your mother and father. I too understand pain and tragedy as my deceased wife was deceased at the hands of not rebels, but the dastardly Hugh Jackman, jealous because he was spurned by her love for me. It was made to look like an accident, as though she was mauled by the pack of squirrels she had raised from birth. However traces of mind controlling LSD were found on their fur along with a small hair that I recognized as the one from Jackman's left eyebrow. You can totally see it missing in his close up in that movie where he has the claws. I think it was Les Miserables. Unfortunately I was not at home when it happened and cannot prove anything. I was away on a flight, and as ground control tried to tell me about what happened I couldn't hear well because my circuits were down. But I could tell there was something wrong by the way ground control kept repeating "Major Tom". All I have left now to remember her by is her wedding ring, life insurance money and large inheritance from her family's poppy seed plantation and cracker factory, Allied Biscuit. But enough about me, please tell me about yourself. Do you travel? What is your favorite place? Have you ever been to Fraggle Rock? I enjoy the weekends, as it is an opportunity for me and my BFF Tyler Durden to fly to Wellsville to visit my cousins Pete and Pete. I am both, it depends on the mood and circumstances, when I am anticipating an event, I am excited, and will act accordingly. I have been known to get so excited about things that will happen the next day that I don't sleep the night before, and im the first one out of bed. And if something is happening…like talking to you at night, I will stay up and be active

What pet peeves do you have?
I have a nail-biting pet peeve, I cant stand to hear someone biting their nails. And I also cant stand laziness, lieing, and cheating, although I am at times lazy myself. I like to have people around me that will motivate me

For the most part, it once again seems like a standard response, but I just can't get over the first paragraph that shows she read my e-mail, and yet still responded. I also don't get how she manages to completely skip over the death of my poor wife. She even asks me my marital status, which hurts just a little the she doesn't care for my plight and struggles. 
After a while I composed the following responses to the lady's (or at least claims to be) e-mail. I 
had a little fun with this one, but the last question I answered I decided to get a little weird and just make no sense whatsoever.

I am currently single, a widow after the tragic loss of my bride to those Jackman controlled rodents. However, I hope to some reanimate her and together we take our revenge on that nefarious man who was responsible. I still need to perfect my T-Virus, but luckily there is a corporation that had stepped in to offer to help me.

How many kids have you gotten ?
I have one, Martin, but he uses his mother's maiden name of McFly. He is older now and spends most of his time away from the house since his mother's passing. Usually he spends his time down the street with his doctor friend, Emmett Brown. The guy seems nice enough, but keeps talking about chrono distortions and flux capacitors other weird things I don't understand.

What is your favorite color?
I love the color of octarine, as it is the colour of magic.

What is your favorite meal?
One can never go wrong with a seared liver, usually served with fava beans (in garlic) and a nice wine. Something from Tuscany.

What is your Favorite Movies to watch?
Usually the older classics, such as Fred Ott's Sneeze or Mark Twain at Stormfield.

What is your favorite type of kiss?
Probably Hershey, but Hugs are nice too.

Are you a morning person? Or an evening person?
I am both, since the time of day does not affect my proclivity towards or existence as a homosapien. However, I did have a friend named Vlad who got severe sunburn when he went out during the day. I haven't seen him since he moved away with Mina, but some guy named Eric Brooks keeps asking around for him.

In a great coincidence, I do have a pet Peeves. I picked him and his brother Jeeves up while traveling. He is quite a nice tribble when he is around me, but is quite unsettled and impatient with strangers. O

I do like shopping, especially since there is no point in having so much money and not using it. Spread the wealth, right? My favorite store would have to be the one down the street from me. They have almost everything I need, and keeps me from having to go across town to the other store that while it does carry some specialty items such as necronomicons, the cashier is a little rude and will not accept payment with chickens.

Do you like to pick clothes or styles for your woman?
Only when they are out of fashion or lost in fashion possibly both when glowering on angles of mediocrity and running on vapors of mindless carnals of systemic cleansing in milk and gnomes.

You are so sweet wise words right there and i love everything you said about yourself. I want you to know that i have learned so much in life and i know whats right for me and when making choices i always make sure i think about the future cos that's what matters to me and not what i can see now cos something can be illusions it takes deep thoughts and using your instinctinons to be able to make sure you are making the right choice. All roads lead to home., and its a blessing to be here once again to read. hmmmm. You're making me feel amazed just reading your note over and over again. I have to admit I was a little ticked off and disappointed that she didn't acknowledge a single thing I said or reference any specific example from my e-mail. She only said we have so much in common and that I am so wise. Not sure where that came from. However, before I could get around to responding, I received this e-mail.

So now the cat is out of the bag. All this was just a ploy? I am shocked! Sadly, I felt betrayed, and since she said she wanted to know the real me, I decided to tell her.

Hi Rubedupe, welcome along!

You've come to the right place as there a rather a lot of very experienced baiters resident here.

My initial observation is that you've possibly a mistake in using your regular email account to reply with. (I'm assuming that's the case.) The problems with this are that your spam will multiply n-fold, and you can't remain completely anonymous.

What we do here is generate one account to 'invite' the spam, known around here as a catcher account, then use another to enter into correspondence. Some use many accounts.

I'm sure others will add their useful bits of info.

Hi Rubedupe-welcome to Eater!

First thing-drop the bait. I know you've had fun but now the scammer has your real life info. This is not safe. The first thing we recommend is to set up a gmail account with NONE of your RL details. Then bait from there. Pick up the same scammer or select from surplus.

Read the stickies , they have tons of information about baiting, where to go and what to do. You may want to apply for a mentor -they're risky free!
