The way I look at it, it is a long weekend here now so by the time I am able to make it to a Moneygram office or whatever, she can have the forms filled in ready to go - the money will be received quicker that way. Obviously.

I have heard too many negative reports about Western Union that I just don't trust doing it that way. Now we know how Moneygram works, I am much happier to do the tranaction with them. I was told by a worker at their office here that the transaction from Moneygram in Australia to Moneygram in Ghana needs the forms filled, or the money cannot be collected. Honestly, I would be taking the word of someone who works there over anyone else!

Do you remember how you promised to be an obedient wife, as commanded by God, my sweetheart? This will be where I need you to obey me, please. She is not listening and that is not good. She is starting to sound a little desperate - that IS good. I think she can just find a scanner and do as she is asked. She may not get too many replies until she does so.

I don't think my lazy mugu will fill in the MG forms no matter how hard I coerce. But that's OK, she is still professing her love for me despite the various mishaps to date. And possibly because I am still adding $50 a day to the amount I am sending, to make up for the inconvenience.

I think ScrewEmAll's idea of a MG manager absconding with the money might be the next step. But not for a day or two. No rush. Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen.

Yes, indeed, that MG manager wasn't a very honest guy. Just when you got him to agree to send the money without the form too. You gave him the cash and he told you to come back in an hour for the receipt since they were having computer problems. When you came back, the door was locked! Now you were worried. A call to the MG head office only elicited that they'd investigate. You went back the next day and the MG office was full of police..even CSI was there! When you talked to the head cop, he said the manager was on the lam and they were taking all the records and money for an audit. Drat! And how long would it take before I can get my money, you asked. "Well, at least a week, depending on what the District Attorney wanted to do, and if MG if would refund your money. Might take longer...you never know.". Shucks! It's not like money grows on trees, and it's going to take a while to scrape up that kind of money again.

OK, I'll try WU this time. No forms with them, but, when you talked to the manager, they now need a copy of a picture ID to send money to West Africa. Yes, we need a picture ID with Priscilla's name on it. That shouldn't be too hard, is it, Priscilla?

My mind just pours out this crap at this time of the morning. Laughing

That sounds fairly similar to the thoughts I was having, but with a couple of extra time-wasting modalities. I shall see how the inspiration flows when the time arrives. Smile

In the meantime, she seems happy again, although apparently is trying to tell me how to go about my business. She has already been told about this, so I will ignore it from now on.

Now that you have her exceedingly convincing ID, you can give it to the WU manager so you can finally get her everything she so richly deserves. What's that? You need to scan it in and have it added to a recipient's database? How long will that? I have to come back tomorrow? Dang! OK, now you try again and the manager informs you that dear Priscilla is already in the database. What? Yes, it appears that your Priscilla has already been logged as a recipient in Ghana. Why, how could that be? I'm ready to send those funds but now I have a nagging doubt about why Priscilla has gotten WU money before. Could it be a long lost uncle...or another Lothario, perhaps? She might have to sign an exclusivity contract, pledging her honor to you. Oh yes, that's quite common over here, kind of like a prenup. At the moment, we're discussing dresses and suits for the wedding. She's playing along and it's all lovely.

This is what I'm thinking. She said she was embarrassed by going to the MG office twice with the wrong numbers. Therefore, I should be able to squeeze one more trip and one more unopenable jpg of the receipt.

Along the lines of - I've been to the MG office, they can send the full amount no problem, I've deposited the $3500, here's the receipt, off you go! It's odd though, the manager wasn't there as they were expecting, and neither was the clerk I usually deal with. Oh well.

Off she goes - further embarrassment. Comes back to me confused. Right, that's it I say!! Go off to the MG but it is closed, and then proceed along the lines of ScrewEmAll etc above, depending on how the narrative wants to twist itself. Smile

Probably that the manager and clerk were in it together, making up stories of forms to keep us occupied while they stole the money - etc etc.

Just adding an extra bit of frustration for my beloved. Twisted Evil

The $3500 is now waiting your collection.
