Due to disorganised baiting I had to go back and pick this one up, but it's such a confused and bizarre muddle I can't resist going back to it.

Ludmilla is a Russian model working in the UK who always ends her e-mails BiBi Ludmi!!a and Lads always pick this up as her name, which amuses me. Ludmilla isn't too bright and she's a virgin slut, which Lads find irresistible and she's usually running away from some evil man and needs a Lad to look after her.

Ludmi!!a has done this before - bad girl. She was once a kidnap victim in West Africa with a Lad chasing after her trying to rescue her.

As luck would have it Bertie's had another offer from gold dealers, this time supposedly in Guinea. Whether it's the same scammer checking up on Bertie or a new gang, Bertie isn't going to resist the chance to strike a better deal with this new lot. It also gives me a back up in case the current ones drop out, and I can't resist total chaos in a bait.

As this will get complicated quite quickly - I'll mark the messages clearly who is contacting whom.

What they mean by the roots is anyone's guess. Possibly the roots of the gold tree from which gold bars grow ?

Mr Bozo has more comic potential than Mr Grumpy, who seems a little gruff and not very playful but, if I can keep them both on board, I have more options.

Scammers don't like to be called out over their scams because it hurts their tiny little egos, so I avoid mentioning this and propose it as a business deal.

It's not a good idea to tell your partner that you intend to screw them over at the outset.

It's all come down to nuggets. If he's not referring to chicken nuggets I presume that the nugget is the official Kenyan unit of measurement for gold ! I'll sleep on that.

Note that Bertie gets the passport copy and his bride to be misses out on that. He's a bit old-fashioned to be polite.

I did pull this off many moons ago with hilarious results and that was only with one scammer.

Mr Grumpy is hooked and I'm keen to get Mr Bonzo on board as that increases my options exponentially and, with a spare, I can really push the bounds.

I'd better get Skyped up and practice my falsetto.

Now some Mali gold dealers have contacted me ! Very Happy

I'm feeling greedy - and my set up doesn't limit how many can climb aboard. Even if it's one of the others checking me out, it's reasonable to expect Bertie to check out whether or not he can get a better deal with them.

No replies from the other gold dealers in Guinea and Mali which is disappointing. I kept in mind that Mr Grumpy could have been checking me out himself or via associates so my mails fitted in with being genuine but disreputable as Mr Wooster.

I'll give them both a kick and delay Mr Grumpy telling him I'm getting Ludmi¡¡a to get more funds wired from her parents in Russia. I'd like other scammers on board, but it isn't necessary. A pause is never a bad thing.

The wonder of baiting is that you can adopt the style that suits you and that gives you the most satisfaction. I can appreciate 'straight' baiting and what can be achieved by that method, but it doesn't suit me. I can and have done it when there's been good reason but I get a kick out of being silly, but keeping it real to the Lad is the tricky thing to achieve.

It therefore appears I have one scammer at least, and I'll check on the rest. If I get them all back I'll probably go in to relapse, but if there's anywhere you can behave wild and wacky it's when you're baiting.

I think someone's blabbing Bertie's details around all of Africa as he's getting all sorts of offers. They involve gold but with all sorts of extraordinary extras. The last one included soccer players. I was worried that they might be another scammer checking me out but I don't think so. Anyway I have so many contacts now I can play fast and loose and be happy if I lose some.

I need to finalise numbers and firm up all contacts. This alone could take a few days and I need to slow down the early starters.

On principle I don't track anything but, as I plan to take on any scammer who contacts me with this bait I have had to change the habit of a lifetime.

I have one from Kenya, two from Mali and one from Cote d'Ivoire but I need to confirm them. Baiting in large numbers at least means when I write one mail I only need to adapt it slightly for the others.

I did allow this multiple bait to hang for a bit and become confused and it appears that this has made Mr Pastry turn in to Mr Grumpy. I just need to firm up with Mr Bozo and then we can move on.
