UK TV Channel 4 will at 2200 hrs today Thursday 2 January 2014 broadcast a Documentary titled ‘Secrets of the Scammers’. The programme will form part of the ongoing series ‘Secrets of the Pickpockets and Shoplifters’. It will contain an element on ScamBaiting. Once broadcast, the Documentary will be available for a short period via Channel 4s '4 on Demand’ (4oD) catch-up service.

I tried setting up an account to watch it and the form didn't allow for us US based baiters to watch. The 2 options were UK and Ireland. Will there be another way TM? |

Can anyone do a copy of this programme for our non UK friends?
Unfortunately I am a bit behind the times when it comes to recording material with the onset of catch up TV I have never bothered with DVD recorders (etc). I could dust off the old VCR at a push but I am guessing there is an easier way for the technologically more advanced people than me on this forum; which is basically everyone. |

It wasn't primarily about scambaiting though there are significant sections, including a live 'meet up' bait with an attempt to get the scammer arrested - all on film.
The scambaiter gets the last line on the programme.
The fact that it showed what the police were doing against scammers, interspersed with what baiters were doing, it gave a very positive message about baiting and 419eater.com. |

There needs to be a shout out.
The program was heavily edited and there were only 3 baiters in it when there were more working away behind the scenes. Those other baiters weren't mentioned.
Without them, the baits would have been dead in the water and there would have been no scam-baiting segment.

I started this hobby by accident almost five years ago...and what a hobby it has been! Loads of laughs, a lot of great people (baiters - not lads that is ), and helping in a great cause. |
