I've baited scamers in the past, just for fun. Not really taking it too seriously. After sharing some with my friends on FB, one pointed me to this site. WOW. I didn't know there was a community of "Scambaiters", I didn't even know of the term. But after reading some of the accounts I took this last one a bit further than I have any other's before.
Would it be okay to share this bait here or should I post it elsewhere?

Thank you all. I did read the FAQ. but I overlooked the mentor program.
As I said I've played with 419er's for several years, but have never taken it too seriously or to this level. I'll post my story in the proper forum.

Gmail seems to be the best for baiting as it offers more storage space and masks your ip address (and they are baiter-friendly so your account is less likely to be suspended or deleted).

Thanks, but my (do we call them Lads?) has called my bluff on my banker friend using a g-mail address and not a real bank address. So I'm looking for a way to change how my email address appears.

You need to take control of your lad. Come on!! He's your pet. You control him and tell him what to do. Not the other way around. Wink

He's questioning you about your email address? Who does he think he is?

You're the boss. Put him in his place. You don't need a bank address to talk to him. You only use your bank address for important people and he's not important enough to warrant it. He's just a worm. If he doesn't like that, then the deal is off. His fault. Not yours. A rich, powerful person like yourself can always find someone else to do the deal.

Welcome to scammer hell. "Lad" just became short hand from "lads from Lagos" used to classify West African scammers.

If your lads being difficult make up a new gmail address something like OfficeCEO!@gmail and tell him deal with it. You don't go through usual channels because of security, right?

I've just set up a Outlook.com email address and examined the email headers from it. The only think I can see is a Redmond, Washington IP.

You can also chose a Live.com email at the same time. Both feature unlimited email storage and the assurance that you are using a Micro$oft product.

I think Hotmail has started masking IP's too. Give it a test.

your banker is obviously using gmail because he does not want to leave electronic traces on the banks mailserver.

of course, a lad could always reuse that excuse...
