I've done a little bit of this before, but never took it beyond a couple of e-mails. I'm here to pick it up again and maybe someday get one of those awesome Trophy pictures for my very own.... As luck would have it, I got what looks like a "Mystery Shopper" scam e-mail tonight. I responded through a "throwaway" e-mail address, asking for more information. What do I do if they want an address to send a "check" to? I know I can't use my real address, but I don't want to use one that's even close to me. I didn't see anything about this in the FAQ's, but I probably just missed it. Thank you all.

^^^ The dropbox JustCold is referring to is in the USA. I don't know of Dropboxes in any other countries available.

I like the idea of the dropbox., but I will have to give it a week or two. I am unemployed at the moment, and while I have plenty to live on, I have to be careful about "extras." So far I have not heard back from the Moneygram scammer, but I did get a straight-out request for $2950. Here is the text:

Just asking: Does that above message count as a beggar? Although that 32 families is almost certainly a lie there isn't realy a fraud there.

I didn't read the message until you said something Leka. It could very well be considered a Beggar as they aren't really trying to sell you anything. Embarassed

Unless there was a mention of money in previous E-mails.

Yeah. There is no crime or fraud in sending you an email out of the blue saying "pls give me money for nothing". Of course they usually come with a sob story which might not be true, but it doesn't fall under the category of advance fee fraud with which we deal here.

You could just ask him. enquire as to what he will do with the money and how it will benefit you.
