Hi,
I haven't visited in a while but wanted to let everyone know that I have had a great time wasting scammers time. I am consulting for a popular winery who has a large online webstore and we get at least one email a week from a "scammer" asking if we can handle a large order and if their shipping company can pick up the merchandise after they pay with a credit card. Of course the shipper always wants payment via Western U.
I've made these idiots jump through hoops and always request incredible details about their delivery trucks, gear etc.I ask questions that you wouldn't believe and basically drive them crazy. However, I am enthusiastic about working with them and the sale so they are totally reeled in,
My favorite thing to do is to waste their time for weeks and then when they send the clincher email that I need to Western Union money to them to pay the shipper I always have the same answer. Please send me the exact details including recipient address and name. Once they send that (which is always some name and address in the US I say "WOW. This is an amazing coincidence. Our company has an office in (e.g.. Martin, South Dakota) and rather than Western Union the money we just swung by and left cash in an envelope for _____ (random name they provided) at the recipient address you provided.
It's great fun. Anyway, if anyone wants to see any of these exchanges let me know and I'll post some emails.
My main goal is to cut and paste responses I have sent to others so my time is not wasted but theirs is. I had a mentor here who told me the main goal should be to waste their time. I also always use names like Ben Dover, Haywood Jablowme, Jim Nasium etc so my friends are entertained when I show them the emails. Yes, that is a bit sophmorish but fun.
I cant believe how many of these people are eager to buy 69 Haywood Jablowme Penga extenders for $69 each or 2112 Mike Hunt "Iamanidiot" Tennis rackets for $21. They always respond with how excited they are to purchase the items.
Hilarious!
Anyway, hopefully my wasting their time is keeping them away from others.
I'm still new at this so advice is welcome but wanted to say hello and tell a bit of my story.
Thanks!! |

Welcome to the forum. I hope you are pulling these to a completely different account that has nothing to do with your employer. |

Yes, They come into the winery and I reply from a different account with non-related items. I'm quite sure the Haywood Jablowme tennis racket and Mike Hunt items are not on the wineries list. HA. However, that is great advice |
