Busting Scammer Bank Accounts

So I am currently baiting a scammer who I tricked into giving me one of his bank accounts. I am looking for an expert who can help me bust this account to annoy the scammer. Very Happy

It is easy! There is a sticky thread on the board about the proper procedure but, basically, you send account details and proof of a scam to Alan. Alan is a mysterious member of 419eater who has the ability to get bank accounts closed.

ALSO if you believe that this is the bank account of a "mule" (a victim who has been talked into receiving and cashing checks for a scammer), send details by PM to a mod. They can contact the appropriate authorities and get the mule to stop being a mule (this really upsets the scammers!)

Thanks! I found Alan's information and forwarded the message from the scammer to him with the bank account information contained. I am not sure if it is a mule account or not. It is based outside of the United States.

I know this question doesn't have anything to do with busting bank accounts, but I didn't want to start a new topic. What is the best way of busting and shutting down their email accounts at the end of a bait? I understand this is a minor concern for scammers as they can just create new ones, but it does waste their time and they have to explain to any victims why their account is no longer working. Plus I want to make their life as difficult as possible! Laughing

Actually rather than getting their E-mail accounts closed it is recommended that you post all of their E-mail and other details at our Sister site, Scamwarners. There is a link at the top of most any page here at Eater. Getting their details posted so other potential victims can find it is better than killing their E-mail accounts.

It's kind of like knowing where the enemy is, is better than not knowing where he is. We know he will still be scamming. Better to know where to find the little Knucklehead.

Oh, and if you've sent the report to Alan. You can add a nice pink piggy to your signature line. You can copy and paste it from the Emoticons if you expand the list. Just remember they are social animals and need lots of companions.

^^^We do not close their email accounts. That is a minor inconvenience for the scammer but every site trying to warn others of this persons activities would lose all their existing data under that and have to begin all over again. We like them to remain in constant communication using that addy. If anyone searches it on Giggle, chances are that it has been reported somewhere.

If the account is in a First World country other than England, it's probably a mule; tell a mod. If it's in England, Terrance Boyce at SW often rants about the lax checking that banks there do when opening accounts, and that they let the fraudulent accounts stay open and be used for scams.

Poland is second-world. There's a considerable amount of Slavic scammers. The account probably belongs to someone knowingly associated with the scammer. If you want to say more without giving it away to the lad, you can have the thread moved to Hints and Tips, which is behind a login.

I only insult them when they know for sure that I am a baiter and I cannot convince them otherwise. Most of them will figure out eventually that I am baiting them, and they get angry. I then insult them to try to induce a funny angry rant. Usually I will use the "rinse and repeat" tactic with a different persona and they are usually too stupid to figure out that I am once again baiting them.

Well, he would be totally and utterly wrong regarding leaving accounts open.
Report UK banks to a moderator.
We have a direct line to most of the banks in the UK and when we report an account, they're normally dealt with in less than 24 hours.
