I'm a newbie, so I'm wondering - if I send my current scambaiting ride here, how high is the risk that the mugu is here and threfore will find out I'm baiting him? I know that some of the baiters there are collecting the moments when the mugu goes to Eater and finds out that he didn't find his dummy victim (because it must be fun), but I'd honestly like to avoid that situation.
So, how many of mugus are hiding in here (how many of you have the "you are on Eater" experience)?

I guess it's impossible to know really.

I think most lads wont bother with actually registering to the site (too much effort) so there are subsections of the forum that are hidden behind logins and cannot be searched by google (just log out and see which sections vanish). The vast majority of baits that get rumbled because the lad found it here is because a google search of their email content led them straight to the thread that wasn't hidden behind the login.
You can also snip out identifying parts of your email conversations (replace names with [lad] and [me], censor out email addresses for example), but there's always the chance that some bright lad may lurk with a login and could recognise the conversation. If you're really suspicious that your lad is here, you can simply keep the bait off the forum altogether until it concludes.

I have certainly had that happen recently http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1949885#1949885 but it was long after the bait was over.

We had a situation a while back with what seemed to be someone blowing baits for other people. It doesn't actually happen often but the risk is always there when you post.

I think you have to decide for yourself whether to post early or not and if you are posting behind a login you should be safe.

Thinking about it though, any hint that your lad may suspect you're a member of Eater is a good thing. It's a sign he's been baited before and is starting to second guess what he's doing and doubt his ability. Paranoid lads means the baiting is working, and increases the chances that they drop real victims at the first signs of difficulties...

One time I was baiting a lottery scammer and I decided to add a new character to the e-mails that was threatening me and making our transactions harder. I named him Dr. Johnson Efedi (after a guy in one of the letters posted at 419baiter). I e-mailed him for 4 days about how scared I was until he sent me an e-mail linked to 419baiter so he could "save me" from this goat of a scammer. They're ambitious enough to at least google names...

^^^ From lads that have found Eater before, it seems that a lot of them just don't get what we're doing and instead think that we're running money-based scams on them.

We've had a couple of occasions where scammers have found their way here and ended up getting baited again as a consequence. Twisted Evil

I am not sure how many lads do.. but it has happened as other have said.
It is always entertaining. I think we had a phone lad once post in the phone lad forum before..

We also had one drop in, The Justin Bieber fan, to complain about his post. He got safaried quick, fast and in a hurry for his trouble. I think that was that bad egg fellow and maybe a fiend or 2 assisting

I've been doing some off site stuff for a few years and you have some good questions and advice here. There is always that chance that a few wiser catchers may catch on, and if this is an issue with an important bait, don't post any details until it is finished.
