hi chaps. I was just wondering - what's the largest number of scammers you've baited at a time? it takes me a while just to work out the plans for my 'friend' let alone any others. But then, im not a pro, so i was just wondering how many one can bait at a time.

Work at the pace you are comfortable with. You will get to multiples when you find that in yourself. I have had a dozen or more at the same time but they were mostly the type I could just copy from one to the next with replies.

Like NV, I quite often juggle a dozen or more across a number of email addresses, but I make use of GMail's canned responses.

I have 45 on the go at the moment. 1 on each of my gmail addresses. it can be quite useful to keep notes refering to each bait. Wink

I'm juggling six lads right now--and have had them hooked for a few months. I had a few others, but they weren't any fun, so I dropped them.

I generally keep it to 1-2 baits per inbox, then I have a "cheat sheet" .txt-file on my desktop, with quick notes on my character and which scam I've baiting.

@conga, that is still a good number as long as you are comfortable. I thought the 45 was odd but then I have some that are rather sporadic so they can be spaced out.

I don't keep cheat sheets but could be a problem if something came up. I usually work them day to day and work accordingly. It may require a bit of altering but it's short work in the long run.

Sometimes it depends on how I feel, what the baits are, etc.

At one time I had 20 investment lads on the go, but I was able to cut/copy n paste alot.

Sometimes I only have a few on the hook as I am doing background work (making forms for baiters, taking care of the Eater drop box, and co-baiting or supporting other baiters with their baits).

Eventually you will find you own level and the type of bait that you like to do -- straight baiting - safaris -- etc. I pretty much keep to straight baiting.

After joining Eater, I started with 60 lads. I don't like to do things by half measures. For the first year or two, I usually kept them to around 30 at a time. But I'm just a straight baiter, and a waffley one at that, so each of my characters just wrote the day's waffle, and then copied and pasted it to all the others, with just a personal sentence top and bottom .......for the most part.

Nowadays, I don't have so much time for waffling, so I keep it down to about 10 lads, and that is mostly to get their scripts to post on ScamWarners. Those that last longer are those that are somehow 'interestng' - I dump most after a week or two, and move onto the next batch of script collecting instead.

Currently I've got one of over a year, and one of seven months, but the rest are just in passing and disposable. Times change. I can't do now what I once did.

But even writing to just one lad makes a difference. That's potentially one less real victim we are taking the place of.

I have two baits going on now. I had seven going on a few weeks ago, five with A. and one each (the same lad) with J. and R., and that was too much, so I sent a jellyfish to sting R&A's son and keep them in the hospital for a few days. Three baits and three sites I'm trying to kill seems to be the most I can handle reliably, with the other things that may come up for me to do. One of the sites got frozen a few days ago, so I'm down to two.

I have not used my "Mass ASEM Auto-Baiting Script" strategy quite in some time, but I am thinking of returning to it. I maintain this method is the most time-effective way there is to bait a few dozen scammers at once.

I built a nice fake church website using http://www.ourchurch.com/ with a guestbook just filled with baiter's emails addresses.

I used Google analytics http://www.google.com/analytics/ to check on the traffic and found that on a hot day 80 mugu spent an average of just under 6 minutes harvesting the email addresses. I'm sure that they then spent part of the rest of the day writing to baiters.

Unfortunately Ourchurch shut down my website when FanMail stopped forwarding my email. Next time I will simply use a Gmail baiting box.
