Right boys & girls, here's a chance to air your views. What are the pros & cons of the various browsers on offer?

All the mods use IE5. If we used anything else, Ghost would not be able to read our posts. Laughing

If I am absolutely pushed, I will reluctantly use IE.

I absolutely hate it when Firefox (which I love) decides to make "changes" -- in my opinion they are never for the better 'cause they move things around and it is not nice to mess with old people!

IE sucks.

Chrome sucks, but not quite as badly.

Firefox is okay and is the one I use. But like Morgain, I find their upgrades annoying. The other day it forced an upgrade on me. No sooner did it install and reload than I got a notice asking to upgrade to yet a newer one. WTF???? Fortunately it didn't force me against my will, but one these days I know it's going to happen. Again.

I never use Internet Explorer nor Safari as they have been too virus prone and have let me down more times than not.

I use Firefox for Xmail, Konqueror for Safe-mail and this site, and either for Fastmail, though usually it's in Firefox. I have never been able to upload my avatar on Βоոег with Firefox or Konqueror.

Oh, I forgot to tell you I upgraded to windows 98 so I am now using FF 1.33.45 .1 .It loads fast with my 28.8 kbps modem Very Happy

Opera. It seems to work well on most sites, has a dinky fastdial page set up with my most used sites, and manages my passwords better than FF, which ate them all more than once.

I will only use IE in an emergency, when nothing else will work.

IE9 isn't half bad but I prefer FF because of the add ons. I have chrome and safari installed but don't use either.

To be serious for a moment: FF and IE. Some sites I visit (my digital bank, for instance) doesn't display properly in anything but IE.

But I do miss Netscape and Mosaic. Those were simpler times. Add-ons is modern junk, just like automobiles, velocipedes and steam engines. Smile

Same problem. But I don't have IE installed. Firefox for preference, Safari for the odd sites which don't display properly.

I have most installed, IE, chrome, opera, firefox, and aurora (the firefox nightly build because this version is better w/ the memory leak). Currently I'm using Aurora/Firefox for the extensions like gmail manager.

Firefox, but the same gripe about the updates and how things get moved around.

Second favorite is Safari.

I occasionally do some test development/scoring work from home and the company requires IE. That is the only time I use it.

Otherwise I use Chrome or Firefox.

Lynx. By far the most advanced web browser on the planet.

Telnet's not bad either.

Firefox mainly, Chrome sometimes, IE very very rarely.
My first ISP provided Netscape 0.9 (on a single 1.44 floppy).

I use Opera for most of my things. But for Gmail i find that FF is better as it is easier to open the mail with FF.
