I just ended a bait.

I created a Reverend account, where he was around 65 and in charge of a large church and school - he picked up Geny Smith - who was a pediatric nurse (misspelled of course) who lived in the UK.

As his secretary I intercepted most of his e-mail & she started to YIM me to see if he was busy. He was always busy or tired (due to his age and all). I started to hit on her.

She suggested a friend - Geny Jones - who was also a pediatric nurse in the UK. I am certain it was the same person trying to scam both me & the reverend.

I took up talking to BOTH of them - all the while Geny Jones would hint at me cashing checks for her (from her brother, etc.) and I resisted saying in the UK you could cash US checks.

Then Geny Smith had a family accident and had to go back to Nigeria to handle the family's textile business. She asked me to help cash payroll checks and checks sent to the business. I agreed, but she didn't send any for over a year.

Last week she got around to mailing the check (telling me she mailed it on Tuesday, then changed it to Thursday). Of course, I didn't receive it and planned on telling her it must have gotten lost in the mail or was sent back.

Instead last night she asked me if I could cash $200 checks from a man in the states who was sending her money every month. She said she didn't love him and told him she was in love with another man, but he kept sending the checks. She mentioned he was married.

I got VERY upset (after all I work in a church) at the lying and extra marital playing around and refused to be part of it. She said he thought she lived in the states - I asked her why he thought that and she said cause she spent so much time in the states.

I told her she was breaking the 10 commandments and not to contact me again & blocked her YIM (reported it as spam too).

Very odd she didn't send checks earlier (this did last almost 2 years) although I figure it costs them to forge checks and she didn't have the money to do so.

And since I've cut off communications I don't have to play with "lost in the mail" type stuff Wink
