Whats the purpose of these types of mails?

I am not sure what the angle on these types of mails are, but is the lad getting their addresses of vics mixed up? here is an example of a mail I just got:

I believe they are a simple way to get people to reply. there is not a lot of information there and as we all know "curiosity killed the cat."

I guess it plays on people wanting to know more. in a way it is like an asem we may send out.

A lad too lazy to copy/paste somebody else's format. Bait him with everything you've got, but short of flying to his cybercafe and putting dollar bills right into his pockets, I reckon he'll be too lazy to make any kind of effort to collect. And probably too lazy to ever produce a trophy or safari. But go for it, bait him, prove me wrong! It's always good to give these things a poke.

If you do want to give him a try, why not respond with something like

"Ahhhh did Mr Tony send you? I was wondering where he got to, please tell me he is safe and well. I've managed to collect his fee together, but didn't know what to do next!"

It gives the lad something to hold onto whilst trying to guess how to get to the money. Let them tell you how Mr Tony is doing, always fun.

^^ I've had a few of those. Some are still ongoing but quite a few have dropped me as soon as i ask any questions that make them have to do work like provide ID.

I did have one that responded saying that the false name I had given him had put me onto him, the bait went on fron there but again he dropped me because I didn't know what he wanted and he wouldn't or couldn't tell me!!!!
