I want to send an official email to my lad from the "international Police, Pornography Division" accusing him of being named in a goat porno indictment, but I don't believe he'll buy a "Yahoo" email addy. Is there a way to create one that is more offical sounding? |

Do what a Lad might do.
Go to mail.com and register an address with a "usa.com" domain.
Then try a name like "Pornography_ Division" and your address becomes:-
Pornography_ [email protected]
.... the only thing is that mail.com is crap and you will soon get fed up of using it, but its fine for using it for a few special mails. |

one of my baits ended because I used a Gmail account to pretend I was investigating my character's disappearance.
Mind you it probably didn't help that one of the questions I asked him was "Why do birds, suddenly appear..." 
usa.com might work but since my characters are australian I'd have to find something different |

I thought mail.com also offered police.com, lawyer.com and several others, but I've never been there.
Fastmail.fm offers a few useful ones, if you can invent acronyms to suit, such as eml.cc, ml1.net, f-m.fm, ftml.net, imap.cc or petml.com. For example Major Hazard of Effective Militia Ltd had an eml.cc address. |

^^ I've heard that mail.com is a real hassle to use, and that it will give your firewall/anti-malware software a real workout, which is why I have never been there either. |

If you don't actually need your lad to reply to the email (just send it to scare him) then you could just use this:
http://humanchimp.co.uk/419eater/backdate/
Then you put whatever email address you want in the 'From' box.
Send the email to yourself first to see what it looks like. |

This is true. Mail.com is one of the worst mail providers out there. The lads love it. |

These are AOL and similar to the mail.com domains: http://www.tunome.com/categoryBrowse.jsp
We found them because some lads are already using them. I have no idea about the quality of their services. |
