It's an interesting read, and once again makes the point that intelligence and a good education are no bar to becoming a victim of AFF, and that paying in fake cheques will inevitably risk the victim being the target of LEO interest. Evil or Very Mad

I should ask them as well why they used that outdated photo of the scammer with the bread on his head. Don't they know that's old hat, and the new breed of baiters make them wear underwear on their head? Laughing

Wow, it's really frakked up that this guy got jailed for this. Am I the only one who is pissed at the authorities for them not seeing that this guy probably didn't know that he was breaking the law? I mean, the fact that he got scammed is pretty freaking obvious. I think our judicial system is a tad bit fecked if we're sending people to jail even after they get boned in the wallet on a scam.

But maybe that's just me.

@Frumpy - I pointed that out too. Explained how some scams can only work if the person in honest or charitable, so not all victims are the victims of their own greed like the last paragraph gives the impression of.

Thank you. - Never mind. The whole article is well worth reading, and it´s good that this subject is mentioned in a computer magazine. As always in these cases, some things might have said better or more articulate. The idea of reporting the problem, however, is a good one.
