^^^ Same here. Cleans the Registry, covers your tracks (useful for your porn surfing, Harry) and has an uninstall feature too.

OK, the verdict is in:
CCleaner ran, and about 300 items found.
Free Windows Registry Repair ran right after CCleaner, and an additional 1480 items found.
My vote goes to Free Windows Registry Repair. Plus, my work machine is running lots faster now. Thanks for the replies. |

If you want to scrub for malware, HijactThis! does not only the registry but also user profile settings and the like as well. It's nice because of comparing the stuff to a database, it compares it to an uninfected model computer's settings. It's not noob-proof, though, so you could accidentaly delete critical system stuff if you click carelessly. |

this is not noob proof, not recommanded unless you know what you are doing. There are forums where you can post your log and helpfull people will tell you what you can and cannot delete |
