New scammer/Desmond Knotts?

I would like someone with lots of experience to get this person - if possible!
If I only had known about this, and some other, sites before I was stupid enough to send him money I would have been able to see through his very good story.
Since this is the first time I'm on this site, I don't know how much info you need, but I assume if his email is not enough, someone will let me know!

Desmond Knotts uses

his associates are:
Chika Nwoye - the hotel manager (a "nice" one)
[email protected] - the police officer helping Desmond...

I also have addresses and phone numbers to Desmond and Chika.

Desmond has sent me photos of "him", and his "son", but they are regular ones - not trophy's pics. Should they be posted on this site or not?

Welcome to Eater.

We certainly need a lot more information from you . . . . . . to demonstrate the scam and the scammer.
You can start with the initial scam letter and it would be helpful to include the full headers.

If you post the full headers of the scammer's email make sure you obliterate any of your personal information.

You might also want to visit ScamWarners and post your story there. It will help other people that might fall for the same scam, and you will receive information, tips and advice.

We were matched on a dating site, so there are no letter asking for money - just a lot of bad happenings after he "travelled" to Nigeria for business...which I was stupid enough in believing in!

The first mail after going through the monitored questions/answers was this:

I have a confession to make but I don't really know how best to put it because I am not sure the way you will feel about it. My confession is that after going through your pictures and profile, your looks charmed me and I felt love. It was so so natural that that It was irresistible to keep my eyes off you.

About me....I was born in Decatur, Georgia and I lived with my parents. My mother was from Australia. After my father died, I and my mother went to live in Australia where i had B.sc in Geological Science. When my mother died, I went to live in Seattle, Washington. I still live in Seattle. Presently, I am in Scotland. I secured a new job contract with a private owned oil & gas company (Gleaner Oil & Gas) a Shell Distributor in Scotland.

I certainly hope this info is usable!

I'm not sure I would be able to get him back myself - we haven't talked since Wednesday now - he was supposed to call me last night and didn't...
In case he calls I'll make sure he's the one calling and I'll get disconnected from time to time.

He's profile - with the stolen picutre -was on mySpace - which I asked them to remove/block...that was before I found this site!

Any more info needed?

I'm sorry to hear that you were taken in by these scumbags. Take Sheboppe's advice, and visit scamwarners site to get support, and to post your story. You may publish their phone numbers here, as I'm sure there are lots of baiters who would just love to give them a few calls. Their addresses are going to be faked so no need to post them here, but you can give that info to scamwarners for publication. Please consider joining up with us at 419eater. You will never get your money back, but you can at least fight back against these criminals.

I tried scamwarners site - and I just kept on getting error msgs that I was not able to register.
Anything special I need to do??

Desmond gave me following numbers:
234 807 371 5559

to reach Chika:
234 803 778 2732

both numbers are cellphone numbers even thought they answer with "welcome to Choice Hotel" when I call Chika's number

Desmonds phone has been turned off during the days this last week, but Chikas phone has been ringing - he doesn't want to pick up and answer until around 4pm (UK time). Desmonds phone is usually turned on after 7pm (UK time)

I also have a WA cell phone number - it goes into fax now (it used to have a voice mail from Desmond).
He told me that he can't take any int'l calls on that one, but that his son Anthony calls on that no.
I guess if anyone from the States wants to call that number they could try. If needed - I'll post that one too.
Should I call the phone company in WA and tell them what's going on and block it?? It's of course an unlisted number...but I was able to verify the phone company due to the number series.

I have also posted my story at romancescam and all pics I received from him.

If they're cell phones like you say they are, alot of fun can be had with cell phones. I'm in the cellular industry myself. First thing that comes to mind is using the numbers against them. Pit scammer against scammer, let one think the other is trying to take a victim away from the other. Twisted Evil

The numbers are cell phone numbers for sure!

Chika is supposed to be Desmonds very trustworthy hotel manager that has helped him all the other times he has been in Lagos.
(I haven't been able to find out how many times he supposely has been in Lagos prior to this business trip though)

Chika is helping him out with all needed contacts so Desmond can get the last missing money to the customs manager (to bribe him)

Yeah, forgot to tell you guys that's the story right now- Desmond is stuck in Lagos due to increase of tariffs on goods and when he paid the higher tariff (which I was nice/stupid enough to help him with...) the customs mngr decided that he wanted part of the cake too.
He can't leave the goods - load it onto a ship - until the custom mngr is satisfied. And of course, Desmond can't leave his goods at the customs, since he doesn't trust the corrupted customs people.

Save those phone numbers for later. What'll you want to do is use one as a contact number for one of your fictional characters. Let's say you get two scammers going at once and you're just about done with them. Tell one of them that you got a better offer from someone else, and when he wants to know the other person's info, give him one of the cell numbers. The ideal end scenario is you have two scammers go to war with each over you, making for some wonderful material.

That's how I think it should be done, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I can't call them since they know my voice now after all these weeks of calling back and forth - and they have my numbers (cell and home) too (remember I had no clue that I was dealing with a scammer)
