LINK IS WEB PAGE THAT APPEARS TO BE SAFE TO SIMPLY LOOK AT, BUT CLICK ON THE PAGE ITSELF AT YOUR OWN RISK (I haven't done so - VIRUS?)

This comes in so many variations of web address that I won't list them but most promise free $ if you join - the most I've seen is $1000.

I've tracked some sites to china, some are hidden, all have 1 year registrations.

So, my question is, how does it work?

Is it a virus bot-net application that is downloaded? (look at the page - everywher you click it will download software; you can't even click on the About Us bit)

Do they ask for equal payment before you get your 'free' money - and then do a runner?

Or something else?

The download itself is an .exe which throws up a red flag in my mind.

Used to be the way online casino's sucked you into playing for free to get you to end up paying in. Nowdays, it's most usually a 'come-on' (to 'join' a botnet.
