I know that football season is over and baseball season is coming up, so I wanted to see what people here at the Eater thought of it. I used to find it entertaining as a child, particularly the suspense that took place between each pitch, but now its bland for me.

If you want to see frozen ropes, perfect 6-4-2's, 110mph fast ball strike out, and lots of ads, watch MLB.

For a good game go to the minors.

It may sound funny, but Little League can be very exciting. It's great to watch kids play baseball.

I will agree with Klein for the first time! Minors are interesting, the cheers and supporting are genuine, and they don't overcharge you on refreshments!

I still love baseball, but didn't vote because I'm not shocked that you asked. Laughing

I am a diehard baseball fan and always will be. I'm disappointed with a lot of stuff that's happened in MLB, but still love it, despite it's ills.

I too agree with KD, I love minor league games.

I have one problem though, last I checked it was still Basketball season.

I prefer minor league games to MLB (and I've been to both). In the minors, they're working on their playing skills and not their crybaby skills.

You get an honest game, and you come home with more money in your pocket.

The last time I checked on ticket prices for the nearest MLB team, they wanted more than Disneyland.

Pitchers and Catchers for the Twins report on Feb 17th. Baseball, on the radio, with a cold beer, while fishing....*sigh* Heaven.

I love baseball.

I hate the MLB.

I will gladly watch minor league and Babe Ruth games, and will watch a Little League game if there aren't any other options.

I'm sad that Little Leaguers can't play with wooden bats, anymore. There is something unnatural about the metallic 'tink!' of leather hitting aluminum. Sad

I can't believe I am saying this......but KD is spot on. We got a minor league team a few years ago in our city, and I have to say it is some of the best ball playing I have ever seen. I can take my boys to the game, enjoy a few cold ones, and it costs nearly nothing. Major league? No thanks.

I will have to write the minority opinion in this case.

I mainly listen to MLB on the radio, and it is not so much the play that captivates me, rather the strategy. The "what would I do in this situation if I were the skipper". I love the pace of play, the voices of the familiar radio announcers. It was the "background" noise of my youth in the summer and early fall. There was usually a game on every day, and the old man listened to every one. He cussed out every bad play and misguided pitching change, and praised the manager when he "listened" to the old mans' advise.

I am getting nostalgic, but I really love baseball on the radio.

I love when the kids play. I've only missed one game and try to set a good example. My little one told me the other parents sat on their hands the entire game that I missed. I always cheer and applaud everyone on our team and never question a bad call. Hey, it was a judgment call and the umpire is the local authority having jurisdiction. If someone from the other team makes a great play, I applaud that too. I always thank the coach and when a umpire calls a great game, win or lose, I make it a point to go up to him and tell him too. They appreciate that and I don't think that its possible in the major leagues to be a participant, not just an observer without streaking naked across the infield.

I love a good game.

I try to see the Mariners a few times a year, but like others have said, I really like watching the kids play. I go to as many high school games as I can find time for. Much more fun to watch. I also try to catch as much of the little league world series on t.v. as I can.

BTW KD, you won that night.

I hate football personally. But I like baseball. To me, there is so much more finesse and precision in that game. Being able to hit a baseball at 100mph is just impressive.

And I think the world of steroids has just made the game that much better. Laughing

i used to hate baseball due to the fact the local team who shall be nameless but it rymims with bilwaukee mruwers sucked , after my wife got me started watching the red sox i was hooked again and cant wait for the new season to start. now i love all of it ...and here a couple 3 years ago we got a minor leage team and there just biult a new beautyful stadium for them.. i just wish it was a redsox farm team. but at least i can see pawsox when they play here.
as for basketball never liked it ... never will

The best part of watching the MLB are the young players trying to make it and the veterans looking for a ring. It's the guys in the middle looking for the $$ that has taken the fun out of the majors.

The Rockies were mostly a young team and were fun to watch down the stretch.
