It's really sad too. Because of media spreading lies and distrust everywhere, there isn't a sense of comradery amongst the average human. Everyone is out to get each other and only think for themselves. Its not long before society really does become what the media portrays it as.

Another good example of not believing what you read - if you are into movies, and read the newspapers, you'll see '...a $10-12 million movie...'. As an industry insider, let me reassure you we lie outright and smile whilst doing it - people like big numbers, so we give them big numbers. Same with actors fees, very, very rarely over $1M (plus a back-end deal), but we'll put out press about a $10M fee for the free publicity. It creates 'star value', so more people want to pay to see the star. We lie a lot. Think about it, would Colgate ever tell you how much it cost to make a tube of toothpaste? Ford a car? McD's a burger? No other industry loses their competitive edge by telling you real costs, film is the exact same deal.

Have you ever watched the red carpet for Cannes? The beautiful actresses arriving at the premiere, waving in a fancy gown? Do you think that's real? Those actors have been inside the Palais for _hours_ beforehand, doing press calls and 1-1's. Then they go to a dressing room (same building), shower, dress, hair, make-up, go out the side door into the limo, get carried to the front door (maybe 50 yards!), then step out waving! They wave, pose for press, do a couple of red carpet chats, then they're through the main doors, bypass the screening, back to dressing rooms, change, hop back in the cars/chopper/tender, and are in their hotels/boats before the first reel is finished, sometimes even at the airport before the film ends. There's a huge industry based around deception (film!), so even the bits that seem real-life are all made up ...

Or maybe it was Lotta. Wait maybe I was posting ABOUT Lotta and... oh it doesn't matter.

Now that the topic has come to light, I'm actually disappointed in the lads sometimes. You'd think that they of all people would like to use statistics, since statistic-power is so danged effective. Almost every other liar in the book uses or mis-uses numbers, yet the best our lads can come up with is a string of dollar-numbers with the decimals and commas in the wrong places or a statement of 100% risky-free with absolutely no chance of failure. No wonder I still call them mugus.

Just once I'd like to see a lad say "Well, I'd give us about a sixty-forty chance of success".

ill tell you what KD i will go to hollywood and i will find out. i will do a exhaustive search and exsamine every single one sometimes 2 and 18 times if need be. and will find out IF there is any real ones left. this is going to take some time, but is a sacrafice im willing to take to get to the truth.
