Here is my first successful bait, in that it lasted almost a month. It comes under the heading of "how low can they get", so I played it straight. All comments gratefully received; at times this was like getting blood from a stone, I almost got dropped several times.

I have had a busy day today. I visited the builder who built our shelter
last year. That was just a roof and a floor really, but it is home now to
twenty families who praise God every day for their deliverance from the

brainstorming ideas. It is far too early yet to be able to send you plans or

families. Four stories high, with private plumbing and two or three rooms
per apartment. That would be Heaven on Earth for these families. Let me tell
you how they now live. They build shacks out of trash that nobody wants,
tied together with string, and just big enough for everyone to lie down
inside. There are no doors, so anything they get of any value is immediately
stolen. The streets are thick with mud when it rains and the only water
comes from stagants pools. Can you imagine what a real apartment would mean
for these people? Your names will live forever in their hearts and prayers.

We can open a trust fund with the remaining money and employ real
professional teachers, so the children can learn skills to support their
families.

Let me tell you what your money will mean. One thousand native people lifted
out of abject poverty and early death every generation. Year after year,
generation after generation. May the Lord be Praised. You are God's own

I can't sleep with worry. What is happening? Has Mrs Adenuga paid the costs?
Are the papers in the mail? I have not received anything. It looks like we
may have some cases of bird flu here. Three people are in hospital, and two
more came to my door last night. They have no money to pay the hospital, If
many more fall sick then the church will run out of funds. I need Mrs
Adenugas money quickly. Maybe within days. Please tell me what is happening.

Why haven't you replied? I need to know now if the funds will be available

every day, now we are using the church as a sick room to look after them,
but they need to go to hospital or some of them will die. Please tell me

You are right. the payment was never made. Or rather it was made but
never got into the Western Union computer. Bjon and I were at the
Western Union office for three hours today, and we kept asking
questions and making a nuicense of ourselves until the manager came.
It seems that the cashier remembered Bjon making the payment, and when
she checked the computer the payment did not come up. Therefore she
told him that the payment had been collected. But the manager said
that that was wrong. The payment should still have come up on the
screen, even if it had been paid out. They checked through the
paperwork at great length, and made several calls to the Western Union
head office. In the end they gave us back our money, so we immediately
went around the corner to the Moneygram office, just as they were
closing, and paid it in there. The information is the same as we had
before, except the senders name is J3sus Bl4ck, and the MTCN is
63926582. Please do not tell me to send you the receipt. I tried to
get it scanned but all the internet cafes were closed. I have just
this minute got back to the church after travelling all over the city.

Two more church members died this morning. I must go now and arrange
the burials.
