I have tried this on holidays at market places in strange countries and usualy got send away quite quickly. This lad however is willing to play ball:

Dear Ping,

As I told you before, don't think it's fair that you get 70% and I only get 30%
and I want 50% or no deal. Your reply:

"As the originator of the transaction i will take 60% while you will
have 40% to yourself."

Does not only insult me, the fact that you are so willing to give away
10% without a fight suggests that there is more money that is suppost
to come my way.

So I suggest 70% for me and 30% for you. Which is not unreasenable as
I'm doing all the work here. If you do not agree, please don't waste
my time as I have other business to attend to, by sending me another

I made a mistake I was going to ask 60-40 hoping he'd go for 50-50 after which I could raise the stakes again to 70-30, but I got this amazing reply:

Dear Amanda,

Thank you very much for your mail.I have read your mail and the content are well understood.I will agree for you to take 70% and i will take 30% but you will be the one to take care of all the expencies such as the cost of retaning the services of the attorney and other fees to be paid.

I await your response.

I will now slap him for not having a spine.

I have come to realize that you do what you did delibrately, if not you would have find a solution.
Your ramblings quite clearly show you to be someone in need of professional help.

Amanda, he was decimated by your hard-as-nails negotiating skills. See if you can milk him for any bonus stuff, like one-way tickets to Lagos or unlimited internet cafe minutes!

I would tell him that 30% should be good for him, considering the cost of living difference. Hell, 30% is probaby equal to 3 or 4 times what you're getting, when you factor in cost of living. He needs to cover all those costs, because you're going to have to pay for a lot of things on your end, mainly taxes. Smile
