I've always been interested in the group names for animals. Some are simple and obvious, like a pack of wolves; some not so obvious, like a pride of lions. I'd like to see what the knowledge base of our members here is concerning animal group names, so I'm starting this contest. The prize will be a one year membership in Premium at my expense.
Here are the rules:
1. This contest will start at 11:59 PM PST on Monday, Oct 14 2019 (this should give everyone at least one day to see this post), and end at 11:59 PM PST on Sunday, Oct 20, 2019.
2. This contest is intended for non Premium members only. (Premium members may chime in after the contest, but please not before).
3. Members may make only one post, with up to three entries.
4. Duplicate entries will be treated on a first come first serve basis, so please review previous posts before you make your entries.
5. On your honor, please do not Google this subject, or research it in any way. I'm only looking for current knowledge of our members on this subject.
The winner will be chosen by me, based solely on my own criteria, whether it be the funniest, weirdest, strangest, or most obscure. I will do my best to research each entry for it's validity, and post my decision as soon as possible after that.

Are you looking for the the words that describe a group of specific animals?
I think so, but it is somewhat unclear still. |

I never realized that there were so many shades of contexts, even for animals. This thread would make even a good translator cry 
Translators/interpreters often get stuck with "concept words" like "stiff upper lip". I had this happen to me with a professor in linguistics in Russia onec...she translated "stiff upper lip" literally
I ended up sending her the Fawlty Towers series from BBC on VHS, just to broaden her perspective in "concepts" (and mis-communication)
