^He's very frustrated. He's emailed me again tonight threatening to call it off if the bank transfer fails, but I'll give him some time to stew until an official update tomorrow, just in case he has anything interesting to add overnight.

Thanks for the kind comments! I'm in the process of figuring out how to strip all the EXIF data from a photo. I'm paranoid about personal info, so I'm leaving him waiting until I can get everything figured out.
ETA: I'm pretty sure I've got it sorted, but I won't send him the "confirmation email" I received (made) unless he asks for it.

I couldn't find a hospital by that name, although there is a Rockyview General in Canada. The lad's in Lagos, though, so that doesn't add up.

What the problem madam no news from you, that's not how things are done, the bank you claimed you sent money to hasn't received anything, did you send the Money online or bank transfer because I know too well online transfer takes 24hours to reflect while bank deposit takes 3days, you'll have to go to your bank to check your account statement if there's any debit, because I don't understand why you're wasting my time.

Can't have the lad dictating how things are done, now can we?

Why do you always accuse me of wasting your time? I don't understand, and it really hurts my feelings. I made the transfer at my bank, and they issued me the confirmation via email, which you saw.

As far as I know, it takes 3 working days for the transfer to reflect in the receiving account. I sent the money last Friday. Monday and Tuesday were working days, which means that the money should show up in your account sometime today. It could also be taking longer because it is an international transfer.

If it doesn't arrive by midnight tonight, I'd suggest there's a problem on your end. Please keep me updated.

There's nothing wrong with the account I sent you, it's a bankers account who works with me in donating these funds, didnt you receive a debit message, every donation I've made via bank transfer always comes out with a payment proof showing the amount and day the fund will arrive.

He really really wants that proof, and I really really don't want to give it! This game can be played both ways, and I'm thinking about asking him to prove he hasn't received the money. Would this be considered involving an ITP (the bank)? Any other ideas on how to proceed are also welcome!

Edit 2: Just after posting the first edit, he responded and solved my problem!
I will wait and see if it reflects today or tomorrow so we can make everything work out for you before now till weekend

Its always the lad's fault. He should have told you the intermediary bank's name. This from the web. (Since it really does not apply to the transfer, sending off some or all of it to the lad will not educate him.)

I straight bait a load of lads together and try to get them all on the same page so I don't have to think too much about what I'm sending, I ask loads of pointless questions and only reply once or twice a day, inevitably after multiple failed money transfers and cancelled bank to bank attempts we get to that crunch point, the lad is deflated so I add another character, I lose about 80% but the last few lads that are stupid enough to hold on are the "good ones"..I would introduce a concerned junior bank clerk in the family run bank who has noticed all the failed attempts and is a bit suspicious of the recipient after noticing through his account review that you have logged into your online account almost every hour over the last day or two. Like I said I lose lads doing this but the ones that are stupid or brazen enough to start talking to a junior bank clerk/brand new character are the ones that are definatly worth keeping. ^Good idea! He hasn't replied yet today. He still seems willing to wait on that transfer, but I could possibly introduce another new character into the bait. I've also been considering letting him get mad at me for the failed transfer, and then bringing my fake lad back in to reveal a chop. Perhaps a corrupt banker character could work as well? I've had some time to think over this problem, and I know where you went wrong. Because it is an international transfer, you need to specify an intermediary bank. Please see below:

Avoiding gift card requests came up in a recent bait. Can't remember which one but the baiting character told the lad that asking for gift cards as a form of payment is a sign for fraud and then provided this link: https://support.apple.com/itunes-gift-card-scams

I would slap the lad for suggesting such a careless and sloppy method of payment and insist that you only trust your bankers to handle financial matters via bank to bank transfers. You call the shots here since they want your fake money Laughing

Would that link be considered educating the lad? I mean, we know they're committing fraud, but do they know we know they're committing fraud?

So if we tell them we know about it, will they be more careful?

^^^ I guess it could educate the lad but if the end result is that this lad will give up on the idea of gift cards and be more forthcoming with providing you some pork to report then it's probably a win win. Many lads are dumb as bricks so just about anything you say that isn't a de-education based lie is bound to educate them. For this bait I see no harm in telling him that transfer services like MG/WU/RIA, gift cards, and bitcoin are notorious with fraud stars and you strictly do business via bank wire. They can take it or leave it...all they have to do is fill out some ridiculously silly forms for the bank/government and all that fake money will be theirs in 7 to 10 business eons Twisted Evil

The advice was originally given here. "Educating" a lad means you are teaching them something they don't already know and making them better at what they do. The link simply sends them to information the lads probably already know and won't become more effective by knowing there are already warnings about their schemes out there.

Don't you know gift cards are not a good idea? I've been told in the past that gift cards are used to commit fraud, and I know for a fact that the dissemination of gift card pin codes is not secure at all. I would hate to have our business flagged as fraudulent!
