I hope you get a response, but these are mostly sent out to a lot of emails in hope that some will pay, they rarely respond to any message they receive.

As Linoline says, it's very unlikely you'll get a response. The email addresses used to send the mail are usually either hacked, spoofed or throwaway addresses that the scammer won't check.

They're just playing a numbers game and hoping that if they spam enough people, a few will panic and pay up.

I've had a couple of these before, but this is the first with the P.S. part. However, this is the first one Mr Harold has received, and at the moment he is far to busy trying to rake together the $2,000 required to reply. Perhaps in a couple of days he may try to get Rodrick to give him an extension to the deadline.

Lads are continually updating this format, so it wouldn't surprise me if 48 hours after the first email you get another telling you they saw your note and the 48 hour extension has passed.

I can think of so many angles for the this type, too bad they don't respond and play too often.
