So, in order to have more latitude to deal with my bank in the US, they require me to have a US mobile phone number where they can send me text messages (verification codes for transactions). However, since I'm not in the US and sms's between US and European numbers just plain don't flying work, so I'm trying to figure out some way that I can do the following:
Get a virtual US number that I can give them, they send the verification code to that number and I get it immediately on my real mobile phone number, my e-mail, or even (Gad!) some kind of app - and of course, so nobody else can get that code instead of me. I don't mind if there's some cost associated, but hopefully not too much.
Receiving calls isn't an issue. I don't care if I can be called on or call from this number, especially if it would cost more. The sms issue is the only part that really matters.
I've done an Internet search and not gotten much headway as to who can ACTUALLY do this (because they don't explain all their services clearly). Anyone got an idea of a reliable place I can go for this? |
