A "Chris Green" from Atlanta responded to an ad I placed to sell my horse. Chris immediately came across as a scam.

He sent what the postal worker at the post office identified as a counterfeit postal money order. They sent it to the postal inspector.

Chris now wants me to send the over payment via western union to his "shipper".

I told him I could do that Monday. How do I keep this guy on the ropes, or better yet, get information to turn over to the authorities. And which authorities would I turn the information over to?

Any ideas and help appreciated.

Hi GregT and welcome to Eater. If your ad was genuine, then the lad has some of your real life details. Drop all contact with him. He will eventually go away and you won't have to worry about any negative repercussions from him.

If you would like to do some good, I suggest you visit our sister site www.scamwarners.com and post the scammer's details. You could possibly save a person from being his victim.
