Since it's the spookiest eve of the year I thought I'd share a ghostly story with you all

I was quite nocturnal back when I was a student, and would often enjoy a midnight stroll around the old city centre. As I'd be out about 1-2am there'd rarely be anyone else around, and all the shops would be shut (no 24 hour fast-food shop, etc).

One night, which I remember being very clear and still, I came up to the oldest bridge in the city and could hear some pipe music in the air (pan flute or something like that). I was quite interested in where the music was coming from, and looked over the sides of the bridge to see if there were any late night buskers about!

I couldn't find any source of the music, there were no lights on in the nearby buildings or people about. Not thinking much about it, I just carried on my walk

It was only a couple of months later when I was looking up local folklore that I came across the legend of phantom piper 'Jimmy Allen'. Apparently he was a gypsy musician sentenced to death for stealing a horse, and was held in a cell beneath the bridge. People are said to sometimes hear his music from beyond the grave......

It could be that I was a victim of a hidden set of speakers, or just heard some late night party- I don't know. I didn't hear anything before or since, so I suppose it's just one of those things

I had a very similar experience the other day hearing the Pan flute coming from ‘somewhere’. It was Eerie, it was Creepy, it was Zamphir and it was coming from my tent. Obviously I was concerned but first finished my smoke, zipped up, gathered some courage and grabbed my Machete from my ATV before returning to my temporary home.

The night was still with no moon to guide me so I proceeded slowly, carefully; wary of every foot fall lest I give my position away yet knowing that I was probably going to meet the Fate of Richard Parker or perhaps Ash of Evil Dead fame before hearing a loud bellowing which haunts me to this day:

“WHAT THE F*CK IS THIS SH*T????????”

I froze in my tracks! Then there was a loud clatter followed by muffled voices; haunting voices. Then there was silence; silence for an eternity before Timmins 92.1 resumed and the Cursed cassette deck was returned to Svantovit’s realm.

Oh and I once dressed up as Telly Savalas…Happy Halloween eh?
