I suspect that not only are we helping to alleviate the problem of people getting scammed by keeping them "occupied", we are also helping innocent people within the scammer's countries themselves by the reason that they are occupied.

While googling for some research related to an ongoing bait, I came across this one:

Pretty horrific stuff. I'm almost certain that many of our lads hand out the domestic violence discussed there. While keeping them occupied with baiting, they are not handing out so much domestic violence.

Something else that made my eyes roll while reading.. on page 10 of the report, about a 14 month old baby killed for a money-making ritual.... hmmmmmm. Shocked

Baiting does more good than people realize.
