Hey guys,

I hope its okay I'm posting this tip here. There's this guy on Craiglist that's running a scam for months. You can see his post here - <snip>

I found him because I was trying to purchase Ableton. His thing is he's "selling the product in Los Angeles but he's located in Sacramento."

I had a feeling the deal was too good to be true so I did some investigation.
After we had agreed on the deal and he said he was getting ready to ship it, I texted him from another number asking if it was still available, and he said yes, and to send him payment ASAP, lol.

He refuses to do paypal, or anything with buyer protection.

The final giveaway is that he isn't selling the product in the Sacramento or SF craiglist sections. just LA. Why would someone who lives in Sacramento sell a product on Los Angeles and have to ship it instead of offering it up in his own area?

Anyway, this guy is a real POS and just begging to be messed with. I got him pretty angry by continuously telling him I had sent the money and posing as a few different people.

The special thing about him is that he'll get your number and text with you, and you can actually call him and he'll promise that everythings legit. He even offered to meet up with me in Sacramento at a Casino. I have no idea what would have happened if I had done that. The lies he uses are hilarious, he talks about his kids and stuff.

His scam has been going for months now because I just saw it today and I interacted with him about the product like 4 months ago.

Anyway, I don't have time to do anything else with this guy, but it would make me really happy if he got caught by authorities or at least messed with by your awesome community of scambaiters.

Craigslist scams are so rampant that I hardly trust anything on there anymore. But we don't deal with those types of scams -- our focus is on advance fee fraud, which is a very different thing.

You were taunting a scammer/criminal with a real life telephone number? That is a really bad idea, and for future reference please consider a burner phone or something not tied to your personal information
