I'm puzzled why they are requesting for the protection money in pounds sterling! I found lads rarely want to deal in anything other than US dollars!

These Mugus are crossing a line; seriously.

I would agree to all their demands, beg them to accept a bank draft by post and then send them a letter with a bit of innocuous white powder in it. In the note, tell them it is some kind of new nerve agent. Won't kill them right away, but like HIV-AIDS, over a period of 5-15 years.

No, this is a very bad idea. It is highly illegal (please remember the guidelines of this board!!!) and could possibly endanger innocent people.

And the authorities don't like that kind of thing at all, especially not in post 9/11 times. You might end up in jail if you do something like that, and right so!

Don't even think about something like that!

but your response brings up an interesting point.

The anthrax scares, given time and historical record, were truly miniscule and quite negligible as compared to public reactions against it. These Nigerian fraudsters caused and continue to cause far more havoc to people and their lives across the globe, yet public reaction: neglibible. Federal officials in many nations should place as much effort towards this real threat as to "perceived threats". Imagine if federal agencies took this as seriously as anthrax? Money would be well spent on a real problem.

As soon as I mentioned innocuous white powder, it is interesting that reactions were more severe than a Nigerian fraudster actually explicitly mentioning death and murder and employing explicit extortion. We all know that this is a statistical game. Some naive person out there will take the threat sersiously. A pensioner, a widower may lose not only sleep but real monies and financial stability over these kinds of threats.
