^ Good to know. I learnt it as colly birds, and was quite confused when others sang calling birds. I knew it was traditional/colloquial English, but never knew what it meant.

Strange song - up to 7 swans I'm fine, but when it gets into leaping milkmaids and lords a'drumming I'm lost. Laughing

I used to love Christmas carols, but when the stations started playing nothing but Christmas songs from Thanksgiving to Chrismas 24/7 I became sick of every single one. Baa-humbug!

I do have 2 that I will listen to:

Feed The World This one always touches my heart and reminds me that no matter how bad I think events are going on in my life, that I have so much more than others. I am truly blessed.

The second one is Last Christmas. I used to spend a week with my grandma during Christmas break. She used to turn on the radio after dinner while we cleaned the kitchen. While sweeping the floor, she would dance with the broom to whatever song was on. One year, Last Christmas was playing and she was doing her dancing singing the song and it was just so cute and funny. She told me she loved the song, so the next year I got her a cassette player (yeah, she only had a record player) with the cassette that had the song on it. It became a tradition that every time we cleaned the kitchen, we'd both sweep the floor and dance to the song, no matter if it was Christmas or not. I just watched the YouTube of it, and now have tears running down my face. Gosh I miss her. We played that song during her funeral, no one could understand why, until I told them the story of grandmas sweeping the floor, singing and dancing with her broom.

ETA again -- Somebuddy, that is a very sweet memory about your grandmother. Mine used to call and ask what I wanted for Xmas, and I already knew she was sewing/knitting it. I'd say, "What ever you think of!" I have a bunch of kitchen towels with crochet buttons on them. ♥♥♥

@Esox - no, but I did make a batch of lightly spiced and zesty blackberry vodka from the organically grown, hand picked blackberries I grew in my garden. Does that count?

I say grew... they sort of appeared one day and took over. I figured I might as well do something with all the berries. Shame I don't like them! Made good presents though.

BTW, if you can knit with your yoghurt, it's probably gone off. Laughing

Oh! After my post yesterday I realised I knew nothing about Steeleye Span, so looked them up on Wikipedia. (May I take a moment to say - oh dear). Today at work we had our now traditional christmas eve quiz. One of the questions was "Which band had a hit with 'All around my hat'?" Rest of the team had no idea. Me? "GASP, I KNOW THIS, I READ IT LAST NIGHT!!! EEEEE!" Surprised
