I received a call from 876-581-1253 (Jamaican number)

Caller claimed that I won the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes. $2.5 million and a new car!!!

The scam was obvious. I kept him on the line for about 20 minutes but in the end he wanted me to get a green dot card for $400 and transfer it to him to cover "tax liability."

I've had some fun with him but he no longer takes my calls Sad

I'm posting the number here so that you can have fun too. If you record anything, be sure to post it so I can enjoy it!

Note: that isn't a US number so check your rate plans first!

Sent a prank owl joke to him. He only stayed on for about 5 seconds, but here it is (warning: explicit language)

Although it's quite amusing to get a reaction, you need to be extremely cautious about messing with the Jamaican scammers.

Unlike many of the petty scammers we deal with, the Jamaican scammers often work in organized gangs, and they are believed responsible for hundreds of violent crimes, including a large number of murders.

Point taken...where I live, I'm not too worried about Jamaican gangs. It is a worthwhile point though, to always cover your tracks.
