MASS market fraud and scam mail is the focus today as we continue our fraud awareness week.
Rhetorical Question but here's my answer.

Economic Crime Unit investigator Debra Phillips highlights a case involving an 80-year-old woman who was told she had won a million pounds but needed to pay for taxes and administration fees in order to receive her money.

Persuaded by sophisticated con people that her money was due, the victim eventually gave away all her life savings of £140,000 before confessing to her daughter who reported the case to police.

I actually dont talk about baiting around my mum and stepdad- its a very touchy subject with them

My stepdads sister's husband (sounds like the beginning of a bad joke) was taken by a 419er- to the tune of nearly a million bucks..

unfortunately most of it belonged to the bank and they ended up divorced
My stepdads sister lost a couple of service stations and most of the family farm in the process so you can imagine that discussions of baiting tend to be a bit of a touchy subject

A (now ex) friends dad was also involve in a 419 style scam (some emerald he had a share in) but as he was a bit (read LOT) of a con artist himself, I never felt it necessary to edumacate him...

In response to the topic I do this for the victims. Every scammer I wreck is for past and future vicitms. Every scammer I extract victim information out of I do for the current victims to rescue them.

I think of it like a rescue situation. Extract victims while doing as much damage to opposition as possible.

@Joker that is a very noble pursuit!

I am here because my family and friends have been victims of numerous scams. Consequently I put as many dents into the scammer's armour as I can while having a laugh ass riot all the way!
