Earlier this morning I posted into one of the other forums something on ParQueen Jewelry...then...THIS showed up right after it...both arrived last night!

My name is Heather Romero. I'm part of a startup called Greenbeard that can help a lot of people. This is a one-time outreach message. You are not on a mailing list and will not receive any more emails from me.

We've built a search engine, www.greenbeard.com, that allows users to schedule conference calls with experts and specialists, paying them for their time. Greenbeard handles the call scheduling and payment processing, connecting everyone at the right time and collecting payment for advisors.

Every day, millions of people search Google and Bing looking for answers. A lot of those searches lead to frustration. In many cases it is advice or guidance from another person that is needed rather than web-based search results.

On the other side of the coin, there are millions of people with years of experience whose income does not reflect their learning. At present, no large-scale marketplace exists where they can turn their knowledge into income.

These are some of the problems we seek to address with Greenbeard. To succeed, we need experts, mentors, specialists, coaches, teachers, tutors, communicators... We need your brainpower. That's why you received this email.

Please visit www.greenbeard.com. Sign up and help us spread the word.

Again...is anyone familiar with these folks?

The domain greenbeard.com has been registered since 2000 and it does indeed look like a search engine (not sure what it was before they rolled out the search engine on the domain).

They do not appear to be asking for any money, so I can't see that it is a scam.

However it does not reflect very well on them that they have to resort to spamming to generate visitors.

Edit: Just found this on their Expert Advice page

Quote:

Help Others and Earn Money
Users request calls with you through Greenbeard.com. If you accept, the call will be scheduled. At the proper time, we'll connect them to you by phone.

You can set your own rate, charging by the minute. We'll track the call duration and collect payment for you once the call is complete.

Answer your phone, help people, and earn money!

so they are acting as an intermediary and collecting money for their experts. So the question is would you trust a firm that employs spamming to take or pay you money?
